Ragamuffin pre Sydney to Hobart testing Andrew Crowe
We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Team Ragamuffin Yachting as their official clothing partner for the 69th Rolex Sydney Hobart Race 2013.

Team Ragamuffin will be supplied with the latest in cutting edge performance apparel incorporating a unique airflow system and protection barrier that helps moderate body temperature in extreme sailing conditions.

The 100-footer, which finished second to Wild Oats last year, is being campaigned in the Sydney to Hobart by Fischer and his team for a second time with the yacht considered more than capable of delivering the 86-year-old veteran his second line honours win.

The iconic Rolex Sydney Hobart Race is widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest offshore yacht races. Selecting Helly Hansen for the upcoming race was an easy choice for Team Ragamuffin skipper Syd Fischer. 'The clothing provides our team with the leading performance wear that’s necessary for one of the harshest races in the world'.

In October, Fischer was honoured with Yachting Australia’s Lifetime Achievement award. Among the Sydney yachtsman’s many achievements are taking Hobart line honours with his German Frers maxi in 1988 and 1990, and winning it overall in 1992 with the former Will, a Farr 50. He has also been victorious in the CYCA’s Blue Water Pointscore Series a record nine times, last winning in 2007/2008. He has finished top three since, until late last year, when he changed his TP52 for the super maxi while sitting in second place. These results culminated in Fischer winning Ocean Racer of the Year on multiple occasions.

About Team Ragamuffin
Australian yachting legend, Syd Fisher, launched his first Ragamuffin in 1968. 45 years later, Syd and his 'Team Ragamuffin' are actively campaigning three Grand Prix racing yachts pursuing line honours and world records across the globe. Over the years many of the world's most talented sailors have graduated from the Ragamuffin program, with Syd providing opportunities for Australia's best and brightest young sailors to experience some of the toughest races in the world. Together with courage and determination, a 'little bit of cheekiness' personifies the Ragamuffin name.

Collinson FX Market Commentary - Sept 23 - USD continues to sag
NZD clings on to 0.7300. The AUD has pushed above 0.7650, but drifted in late trading, despite a weakening Dollar. The ECB and RBNZ continued the inaction of the Fed and the Bank of Japan. The RBNZ has left rates unchanged and seemed content with local economic conditions. The Jaw-boning of the currency continued, but to no avail, as the currency holds around 0.7300.

You could imagine that being familiar with all that Harken produces and stands for is a lengthy process. So if you were going to be the person at the top in Australia, it would be best for you to have immersed yourself in sailing from an early age. The X Factor starring X-Yachts
X-Yachts do indeed have plenty to sing about. X-Yachts do indeed have plenty to sing about. Testament to that is the three-year-old Xp38 on display at the recent Sydney International Boat Show still looked brand new. This was no mooring minder either, but rather a boat that had gone up to Hamilton Island Race Week for each of those years and campaigned hard.
