Sarah Treseder presents Charles Bush with the ’British Coastal Marina of the Year’ award for Mayflower Marina TYHA http://www.tyha.co.uk/
Plymouth’s Mayflower Marina has been revealed as the ‘British Coastal Marina of the Year’ at the London Boat Show. These were the first marina awards from the leading trade association for marinas, The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

Mayflower Marina is an independent marina, owned and operated by Sailport PLC. It has berthing for nearly 400 boats, boatyard services and an extensive range of onshore facilities including the popular Jolly Jacks bar and restaurant. In 2012 Mayflower Marina was awarded TYHA’s coveted 5 Gold Anchor award for maintaining the highest standards of facility and customer service.

The Marina of the Year award was made by Sarah Treseder, CEO of the Royal Yachting Association, and was received by Mayflower Marina’s Managing Director Charles Bush.

Charles Bush, said 'To have won this award by virtue of customer nomination makes it a particularly special achievement. Over the years we have invested heavily in the marina’s facilities and whilst facility is important it is people and relationships that matter most.

The friendly atmosphere at Mayflower Marina is a very positive reflection on all of the people involved on our site but none more so than our staff. I am delighted and very proud to accept this award on their behalf.

I should like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their on-going support and for helping us to win the Marina of the Year award.'

Libby Gordon from TYHA said 'These awards are an excellent way to acknowledge the hard work that marina staff do not only in the UK, but all over the world. We are grateful to our sponsors GJW Insurance for supporting this year’s awards and hope to build on the awards in future TYHA
