Commuters today traded their usual ferry trip for five-star luxury onboard Maritimo’s latest-release motor yacht. The gleaming multi-million-dollar vessel picked up South Bank passengers bound for Brisbane city and treated them to a free ride to work in world-class style.

The thrilling ride onboard Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo’s brand-new M59, valued at more than $2.1 million, gave around 15 lucky commuters a taste of the excitement ahead at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), taking place at the Gold Coast’s leading lifestyle destination next week, from May 25 to 28.

In 2017, Sanctuary Cove will again transform the pristine marina and green expanses of The Marine Village into a bustling industry mecca, as the world’s leading marine brands stage exclusive product reveals and demonstrations, including the Australian launch of the Maritimo M59.

The southern hemisphere’s premier marine event, SCIBS attracts more than 40,000 visitors and injects $148 million into the local economy each year.

SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said Brisbane was a key market for the Show, which featured everything from luxury superyachts and in-demand charter vessels, motor yachts, sailing boats and multihulls, to jet skis, fishing boats, RIBs, and the latest gear and gadgets.

“We greatly value the continued support of our many Brisbane-based exhibitors, as well as the thousands of visitors who make the trip from Brisbane to enjoy the Show each year,” Mr Hasser said.

“SCIBS is a unique opportunity for us to share our passion for the boating lifestyle, and for our visitors to experience all the excitement and entertainment on offer throughout The Marine Village, while discovering the very latest innovations from the global marine industry, with displays and events catering to every level of interest, life stage and budget.”

Maritimo International Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Haines said Brisbane commuters were treated to an exclusive preview of the stunning new M59, which will make its official Australian debut at SCIBS next weekend.

“We are bringing commuters a special sneak peek of what we have in store at SCIBS, where Maritimo will premiere the breathtaking M59,” Mr Haines said.

“It will certainly be a change from the CityCat, and while it may only be a short trip across to Brisbane City, we are certain these commuters enjoyed a spectacular start to their working day as they cruised the Brisbane River in pure luxury.”

A trade and consumer show endorsed by Tourism and Events Queensland, SCIBS delivers an unrivalled display with hundreds of boats and thousands of marine products showcased across four days of boating fun.

From the moment guests arrive, industry displays are enhanced by a lively program of family-friendly entertainment and events, including a Kids’ Zone, roving street performers, live music and delicious food on offer throughout The Marine Village.

Last year’s popular additions including Supercar Street and The Boatyard – a dedicated sport and trailer boat precinct – will be back in 2017, providing visitors with “shows within shows”.

SCIBS offers FREE park ‘n’ ride services from Warner Bros. Movie World, along with limited on-site parking, available pre-paid only.
