Steber hull used for new luxury vessel

by John Bulmer on 6 Apr
Luxury sports Limousine John Bulmer
Steber International's 11m hull has been used in construction of the latest luxury sports limousine created by Van Diemen Luxury Craft, Tasmania.

The hull, which was manufactured at Steber's factory complex in Taree, NSW, was shipped to Tasmania for fit-out, including Van Diemen's signature convertible roof and windows.

'The proven hull design was a key factor in gaining the contract', says General Manager, Alan Steber,' as the client was looking for the added safety and security of a vessel to survey'.

The sports limousine concept allows the vessel to transform at the touch of a button, while providing luxury seating for 13 guests. When desired, the roof and windows fully open to allow guests to better enjoy the cruise and the environment.

The vessel's transom door opens flush with the aft deck for ease of boarding. This feature also maximises the aft deck area for swimming and entertainment.

Fitted with two helm stations, twin engines and bow and stern thrusters, the sports limousine has exceptional maneuverability, making berthing an effortless operation. The helm stations are stylishly fitted with full digital touch screen controls which operate the vessel's systems.

Included in the vessel is a Seakeeper gyroscopic stabiliser, the first in the world to be commissioned on a vessel of this size. This unit provides improved stability and even greater levels of comfort by limiting the lateral roll of the vessel.

Amenities include a bathroom, wine fridge and bar, whiskey nook, deck shower and ample storage facilities.

The one vessel, three configuration design consists of:
- Stowed position: All components are lowered to the height of the gunwale
- Limousine position: Windows raised and roof lowered to form a sealed, comfortable forward cabin.
- Sports position: The roof is lifted fully overhead wherein provides sun protection.
