VIC Coalition govt to boost funding for boating infrastructure BIA Victoria
BIAV President Paul Benjamin has rejoiced in the recreational boating infrastructure funding boost delivered by the Napthine Coalition Government in the 2014-15 Victorian State Budget.

Speaking from the ‘Victorian Special Group Budget Lock-up’ Mr Benjamin said 'the Napthine Government has delivered for our industry and recreational boating community with a $12 million increase to the Boating Safety and Facilities Program.

'Increasing funding for the main source of recreational boating infrastructure investment to $8 million annually provides certainty for the future growth of our industry and vastly improved facilities for recreational boaters.

'Recreational boating contributes more than $2 billion to the Victorian economy each year and the Napthine Government has today committed to ensuring that figure continues to grow.

'The Coalition Government is also investing $10.3 million for local ports maintenance and $3.4 million to upgrade and replace marine pollution response equipment.

'I commend the Napthine Government and, in particular, Minister for Ports David Hodgett on his continued and demonstrated commitment to improve recreational boating facilities and services across Victoria and drive growth in our industry.

'The BIAV very much looks forward to continuing to work closely with Minister Hodgett and the Napthine Government to deliver better access and safety for Victorian boaters,' Mr Benjamin said.
