NV-Charts announces availability of new Region 1.1 Maine chart set

by Mike Martel on 18 Mar 2013
Maine Region 1.1 Chart Set Now Available from nv-charts . .
The coast of Maine, measured directly from one end to the other, is only 228 miles long; but it has nearly 3,000 offshore islands, and a 3,478 mile coastline, making it one of the globe’s most popular cruising and gunkholing destinations during the New England summer.

Now, nv-charts, a global leader in highly accurate, detailed maritime chart products, announces the availability of their new Region 1.1 Maine chart set in paper and digital formats for sailors, motor boaters, fishermen and professional mariners, and cruising enthusiasts. Region 1.1 covers the coastline from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, to the Canadian border, and includes three passage charts, 59 coastal charts and 19 detail charts all in a manageable set that is designed to fit neatly on a chart table and includes a CD with all the charts in digital format. Region 1.1 is also available on SD memory card for chartplotters.

NV-Charts’ Region 1.1 package also includes plotted waypoints, more distinctive shore and shallows cartography, aids to navigation and light characteristics, tidal information, and features four helpful pages in the back outlining symbols, legends, and other data that help the navigator interpret the information in the chart. The cartography is visually distinct; unique color differences make specific depths, shoals, reefs, exposed tidal areas stand out for quick, easy recognition. Also, lighthouses illustrate their light characteristics for better identification. The chart sets retail at $69.95 USD and can be purchased online at NV-Charts or from local chandleries and marine supply stores.

NV-Charts produces charts for mariners in paper, digital format for use on PCs, and in formats compatible with mobile devices. NV-Charts are also supplied on SD memory cards for chartplotters, and include all current nv-chart regions, e.g., the U.S. East Coast, Europe, the Caribbean and Cuba. For more information, visit NV Charts.
