Event: Firefly open M25 & Vines trophy event
18 Sep 2022
Open to these classes: The day will be shared with our friends from the Enterprise class, separate starts of course!
Briefing planned for 10.30, two races, then a bite of lunch, then two more races, then the world famous Chipstead afternoon tea and cake and light refreshments to which all competitors are invited as guests of the Chipstead SC Enterprise and Firefly fleets
We will be racing for the Walter Smith Trophy, dating back to 1959 and raced for just about every year since, and the event will also be heats in the NFA Vines Trophy, 5th round of the nine planned and the M25 Trophy, 3rd round of four
.
Chipstead lake is large enough for the experienced racer to enjoy an amusing and competitive day's racing, but also small and secure for the less confident to sail, race and feel comfortable.
Launching from a sloping beach or pontoons, so no need for us to even get our feet wet.
.
All club facilities will be available and families, supporters, managers and pit crews are all very welcome to enjoy a great day of racing.
Excellent views of the race course from the club house verandas
.
Catering and light lunches will be available all day
Please enter in advance if you can, on - line, using the Eventbrite link from the Facebook pages of the NFA site, Fireflyclass or from Chipsteadsc.
Entries welcome on the day, cash or cheque please
Entry fee is £15
.
Find the club and the lake just off Junction 5 of the M25, leaving to join the A21 (southbound) and then quickly to join the A25, (eastbound), then quickly left into Homedean Road, into the village and left into Chevening Road, a short distance and right opposite the Bricklayers Arms.
A narrow winding lane brings you to our club, car park to the right, foreshore and launching to your left, club house directly in front
