Australia's largest luxury motor yacht builder, Riviera, has moved to substantially enhance its presence in Japan with the appointment of a major leisure corporation, Unimat Precious, to represent the highly awarded Riviera and Belize marque.

Unimat Precious is one of the largest marine businesses in Japan and uniquely placed to offer outstanding motor yacht owner care, owning eight marinas with more than 1,000 berths. Two of the marinas are in the Tokyo Bay region, the country's favourite boating destination.

Riviera CEO Wes Moxey said the appointment of the respected marine industry professionals at Unimat Precious will be warmly welcomed by owners of luxury Riviera motor yachts throughout Japan.

“Japan has a rich history of enjoying the luxury motor yacht lifestyle and especially Riviera," said Mr Moxey. "Our hallmark quality, luxury, innovation, blue-water sea-keeping abilities and unrivalled owner support will be further enhanced in Japan with this appointment."

Mr Moxey says the appointment of Unimat Precious will provide additional support, assistance and social opportunities to the growing number of Riviera owners and to those aspiring to explore idyllic destinations throughout Japan.

"Riviera already has a strong reputation and a significant number of owners in Japan," he said. "Unimat Precious will provide quality support for our current owners and a powerful capability to welcome new Riviera and Belize owners."

Riviera 43 Open Flybridge to Premiere at Japan International Boat Show

Unimat Precious has already moved to highlight the Riviera marque at the Japan International Boat Show in March by securing a Riviera 43 Open Flybridge to Premiere on the company's display.

Two representatives of Unimat Precious visited the Riviera yard at Coomera in south-east Queensland last week to inspect and sea trial their new Riviera 43 Open Flybridge that will ship to Japan for her premiere at the show in Yokohama from March 8 to 11.

Mitsuru Ishii manages the Mikawamito Marina near Nagoya and Futoshi Ninomiya operates the Sajima Marina at Kanagawa near Tokyo.

Mr Ishii has a detailed knowledge and experience of supporting Riviera owners in Japan over more than 10 years, first with the previous dealer and now with Unimat Precious.

Mr Ninomiya said Unimat Precious is honoured to represent the iconic Australian motor yachting marque.

"With a loyal base of current owners, we are looking forward to welcoming new owners to the Riviera family in Japan and providing exceptional care and creating unique boating experiences," he said.

"The 43 Open Flybridge is perfectly suited to the motor yacht market in Japan. We believe the new 395 SUV to premiere in Australia in May will be also be extremely well received in Japan."

He said the versatility of Riviera motor yachts will be particularly attractive to clients in Japan.

"Cruising and fishing are both very popular and our clients are seeking a motor yacht that can fulfill both functions with exceptional ease of operation, great comfort and luxury. Rivieras fit that demand perfectly."

As well as owning and operating marinas throughout Japan, Unimat Precious owns and operates luxury resorts, hotels and golf courses, employing more than 2,000 staff.
