Over the last 12 weeks Sea Sure has remained open with limited staff to fulfil orders to new and existing customers both in the marine and industrial markets. Although we are operating with reduced staff this has not held back our design team who have come up with a couple of new products to help with social distancing and reduce the level of contact.

The Sea Sure factory has had to go through a few changes to help the staff manoeuvre around the building safety and maintain 2m distancing. Like many other buildings the Sea Sure factory has several corridors that are too tight for people to pass side by side and maintain 2m social distancing. You may also be walking down a corridor and not know that there is someone around the corner walking towards you. The new Sea Sure Turnstile is placed at the entrance to a corridor and once someone walks through, it turns the graphic to red to let other people know there is someone down the corridor. Once you walk back through it the graphic turns green to let you know it is safe.

"The design of the Turnstile was brought around by our own need for the product at our manufacturing site in Warsash Southampton" says Graham Brown, Sea Sure Managing Director. "The turnstile will work well within yacht & sailing clubs once they reopen as many of them have small corridors to toilets and changing rooms."

The second product that Sea Sure have designed and manufactured is called the "Foottie". The Foottie removes the need to touch a door handle and thus helping to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other viruses/germs. The Foottie simply screws onto the lower door so you can easily open doors using your foot. If the door has a spring loaded catch you simply tape over the latch.

"The Foottie has proved invaluable at our manufacturing site as we have doors between all major work areas that need to be kept closed for safety reasons" says Graham. "There are other products on the market such as door handles that secrete anti-bacterial gel, however they are extremely expensive and need to be constantly maintained". The Foottie would be ideal for toilets, changing rooms, store cupboards etc that need to be kept closed for privacy or safety.

As well as making the above, the Sea Sure team have been keeping busy with orders from new and existing customers. Over the last 12 weeks we have opened several new accounts for customers that have been struggling to get the parts they need from other suppliers as they were importing them from other countries. As a UK manufacturer we have been able to continue manufacturing both our standard & custom products and supplying them quickly to our customers.
