While we remain confused as to when the country will be free of lockdowns, business deals continue to take place.

Raymarine understands that boating should be relaxing and fun. That's why its engineers went to work nearly four years ago, developing and combining the technologies that could help remove the stresses of docking a boat. All the while increasing peace of mind and protecting boaters' valuable investments.

"It's an exciting step forward for boaters," says Gregoire Outters, General Manager for the Raymarine brand at Teledyne FLIR. "After years of development, testing and refinement - meeting and overcoming challenges head-on - we couldn't be more excited to announce the availability of Raymarine DockSense Control to the recreational marine industry. DockSense Control delivers a beautifully engineered solution to one of the most common problems and sources of frustration in boating and is squarely representative of Raymarine's mission of improving the overall boating experience."

"Emerson has long been committed to making ship maneuvering ever safer and easier," explains Steffen Kauth, Business Development Manager at Emerson Automation Solutions. "With the Aventics™ Marex 3D joystick system, we have taken a major step forward on this path, providing intuitive, one-handed operation of main and auxiliary drives at great accuracy in maneuvering.

Late last year, Nathan and Ebony Dark went to buy a new water pump from Steve Parker at Lewis Boats on the NSW Central Coast. They ended up buying the whole business. According to Nathan, working for himself was always a dream, but he never expected to own Lewis Boats.

"My parents owned a Lewis Boats dealership, which started my passion for boating early in life. I married Ebony who, similarly, had a hobby for all things boats and we ended up selling second-hand Lewis Boats for the last fifteen years" Nathan said. "So, when Steve mentioned that after 55 years of owning the business that he was ready to hand over the reins, it ended up being a no brainer for us."

Lewis Boats is Australia's oldest ski boat manufacturer, established in the early 1930s. The company prides itself on quality designs and 'sports car handling' in their boats.

Following hard on the heels of the announcement that EKKA Yachts facilitated the sale of the 10th unit in Sanlorenzo's 500EXP series, the Athens-based yacht brokerage house and brand representative of Sanlorenzo Yachts has sold a Sanlorenzo 44Alloy in partnership with Brock Rodwell of Ray White Marine in Australia representing the buyer.

"Ray White Marine is a long-standing partner for us in Australia and we have joined forces in matching a privileged delivery for a state-of the art yacht with qualified local client that wanted immediate delivery to enjoy in Australia and the South Pacific" says Dimitris Kyriazakos, Managing Director of Ekka Yachts.

Superyacht Australia, the peak body for the Australian superyacht industry, is excited to announce the Sydney-based global CFD and FX provider, City Index, a subsidiary of StoneX Financial Pty Ltd, has joined the association as a Platinum Member. City Index offers clients access to over 4,500 markets from Forex, Indices, Shares, Cryptocurrencies to Commodities. They are committed to providing traders with market-leading service and are working continuously to raise the industry standards.

Tom Brown, the head of City Index Australia, gave his comments on the partnership: "We are extremely excited to establish this partnership with Superyacht Australia and we look forward to engaging with members with an active interest in financial markets. On the sailing front four-time America's Cup winner and America's Cup Hall of Fame inductee Grant Simmer OAM has been appointed to the Board of Australian Sailing for a term of two years. The vacancy on the Board was created with Alex Baumann's resignation as an Appointed Director upon his appointment as CEO of Swimming Australia.

"We are delighted to have someone of Grant's experience joining our Board," said Australian Sailing President Daniel Belcher. "Grant brings a huge depth of knowledge and experience across the high performance and commercial sides of our sport. He will fill a newly-created void in that space with Alex's departure, and obviously has a deep understanding of the Australian sailing landscape."

Simmer has a mechanical engineering degree and, after beginning sailing in Manly Juniors at the Avalon Sailing Club in NSW, went on to become one of Australia's most accomplished America's Cup competitors. "I am honoured to be appointed to the Board of the Australia Sailing," said Simmer on his appointment.

And extending our news to cover our near neighbours, Horizon Yachts is pleased to announce the launch and delivery of a new FD90 Skyline to an Asian owner. Christened Tyee, the yacht is the 20th hull of the popular Fast Displacement (FD) Series model and the first FD yacht delivered to Southeast Asia. Within her 23' 3" beam, Tyee features a five-stateroom layout with an enclosed skylounge configuration.

A spacious aft deck leads into the main salon with a dayhead and television aft to starboard and a lounging area highlighted by a corner glass cabinet, sumptuous L-shaped white leather sofa and coffee table with pouf ottoman to port. White oak and walnut feature as the main woods throughout the interior, and the elegant yet minimalist décor is further distinguished by floor-to-ceiling windows and white ash flooring.

Whilst we wait in anticipation of a day we can return to life as we once knew it, feel free to send us any news that you would like to share with the rest of the industry. We send out close to 7000 newsletters every week which shows the industry is keen to keep up with latest developments.

Stay safe,
