While we remain confused as to when the country will be free of lockdowns, business deals continue to take place.
Raymarine understands that boating should be relaxing and fun. That's why its engineers went to work nearly four years ago, developing and combining the technologies that could help remove the stresses of docking a boat. All the while increasing peace of mind and protecting boaters' valuable investments.
"It's an exciting step forward for boaters," says Gregoire Outters, General Manager for the Raymarine brand at Teledyne FLIR. "After years of development, testing and refinement - meeting and overcoming challenges head-on - we couldn't be more excited to announce the availability of Raymarine DockSense Control to the recreational marine industry. DockSense Control delivers a beautifully engineered solution to one of the most common problems and sources of frustration in boating and is squarely representative of Raymarine's mission of improving the overall boating experience."
"Emerson has long been committed to making ship maneuvering ever safer and easier," explains Steffen Kauth, Business Development Manager at Emerson Automation Solutions. Late last year, Nathan and Ebony Dark went to buy a new water pump from Steve Parker at Lewis Boats on the NSW Central Coast. They ended up buying the whole business. According to Nathan, working for himself was always a dream, but he never expected to own Lewis Boats.
"My parents owned a Lewis Boats dealership, which started my passion for boating early in life. I married Ebony who, similarly, had a hobby for all things boats and we ended up selling second-hand Lewis Boats for the last fifteen years" Nathan said. "So, when Steve mentioned that after 55 years of owning the business that he was ready to hand over the reins, it ended up being a no brainer for us."
Lewis Boats is Australia's oldest ski boat manufacturer, established in the early 1930s. The company prides itself on quality designs and 'sports car handling' in their boats.

On the sailing front four-time America's Cup winner and America's Cup Hall of Fame inductee Grant Simmer OAM has been appointed to the Board of Australian Sailing for a term of two years. The vacancy on the Board was created with Alex Baumann's resignation as an Appointed Director upon his appointment as CEO of Swimming Australia.
"We are delighted to have someone of Grant's experience joining our Board," said Australian Sailing President Daniel Belcher. "Grant brings a huge depth of knowledge and experience across the high performance and commercial sides of our sport. He will fill a newly-created void in that space with Alex's departure, and obviously has a deep understanding of the Australian sailing landscape."
Simmer has a mechanical engineering degree and, after beginning sailing in Manly Juniors at the Avalon Sailing Club in NSW, went on to become one of Australia's most accomplished America's Cup competitors. "I am honoured to be appointed to the Board of the Australia Sailing," said Simmer on his appointment.
