Following Managing Director Ollie Shortall's well-received presentation at ICOMIA 2025 in Venice, Inland and Coastal is bringing its focus on innovation in floating structures to Metstrade 2025, held from 18-20 November in Amsterdam.

At the show, the company will highlight how precast concrete technology is redefining what's possible in marina design - creating stronger, more flexible and more sustainable floating structures that can be adapted for a wide range of commercial and leisure applications.

"Innovating with precast technology means we can now build floating platforms of almost unlimited size, with exceptional precision and quality," says Shortall. "It allows us to manufacture pontoons to a very high Eurocode standard, transport them easily and join them on site to form large, complex structures without compromising on performance or durability."

This approach has already been put into practice through several standout projects, including its recent Banagher Pool and Jeanie Johnston developments - both examples of how Inland and Coastal's engineering expertise is expanding the possibilities for marina and waterfront design.

Lunchtime talk at Mets

To give visitors a closer look at these advances, Inland and Coastal will host a lunchtime talk on Wednesday, 19 November at 1pm (CET) on stand 05.723. The session, titled "Pontoon innovation: Redefining floating structures with precast technology," will be presented by Inland and Coastal's Managing Director Ollie Shortall and Sales Manager Bryan Stewart, showcasing a series of its special projects that have been completed over the past year.

"This will be an informal, engaging session - a chance to take a break, grab a bite and explore what's next in pontoon design and technology," adds Shortall.

The event is being promoted in partnership with The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), with all members and industry professionals encouraged to attend.

If you'd like to learn more about innovation in floating structures or to simply speak with someone about your pontoon needs, the Inland and Coastal team will be available throughout the three-day event on stand 05.723 in Hall 5.
