US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing in the United States, is pleased to announce the results of the 2026 Board of Directors elections.

This year, one proven leader has been re-elected to the Board by US Sailing's general membership, and two additional members have been appointed and elected to key leadership positions.

Molly O'Bryan Vandemoer (Redwood City, Calif.) has been re-elected to serve as a Board Director. A 2012 Olympian in Women's Match Racing, Vandemoer finished fifth at the London Games and was the 2011 World Champion and 2012 runner-up in Women's Match Racing. She also captured the 2010 Women's Snipe World Championship title. A three-time ICSA All-American Skipper and 2001 ICSA Women's Dinghy National Champion while at the University of Hawai'i, Vandemoer has demonstrated competitive excellence at every level.

Off the water, Vandemoer serves as Executive Director of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation, where she has been instrumental in developing young sailors and expanding community sailing access. She also represents athletes' voices on US Sailing's Sailor Athlete Council. Vandemoer brings to the Board a unique blend of elite competitive experience, athlete advocacy, and youth program leadership—all grounded in a passion for growing and strengthening the sport.

Tarasa Davis (Atlanta, Ga.) has been appointed to a Director seat by the Board of Directors. Davis currently serves on US Sailing's Finance Committee and Governance & Compliance Committee and is the Snipe Class International Racing Association Director. A former Olympic campaigner in the Europe Dinghy class for the 1996 Games, Davis was the 1994 Olympic Class National Champion and ranked third nationally on the US Sailing Team. She also served on the National Sailing Hall of Fame Board from 2016 to 2020.

Stu McNay (Providence, R.I.) has been elected as the new 10-Year Sailor Athlete Director and Athlete Board Member. A five-time Olympian in the 470 Class (2008-2024), McNay is also a Melges 24 World Champion (2016), 505 World Champion (2022), and 470 European Champion (2015). The Sailor Athlete election process is managed by the Sailor Athlete Council.

Current board member Bob Kottler (New Orleans, La.) will assume a new role as Treasurer. Laura Grondin (West Hartford, Conn.) will continue her current role as Vice President.

"The 2026 Board represents an exceptional blend of experience, vision, and commitment to the sport," said Henry Brauer, US Sailing President. "Their leadership will play a vital role in advancing US Sailing's mission and supporting sailors across all levels."

US Sailing extends its sincere thanks to outgoing board members John Schoendorf (Miami, Fla) and Director Sarah Lihan (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) for their dedicated service to the Board and to the sailing community.
