Metro Marine Lighting, manufacturer of premium marine lighting solutions, today announced the launch of its F-Series Full Spectrum Underwater Lights, the newest addition to its lineup of marine lights with industry-first, patented anti-biofouling and anti-condensation technologies.

Building on Metro Marine’s legacy of innovation and market leadership in optics and LED control technology, the F-Series underwater lighting fixtures introduce a unique LED array to the market with 72 high-output LEDs per fixture, allowing for close adjacent fixture placement where fully-mixed, uniform light is important. To create higher-quality whites and even richer color blends than ever possible with traditional RGBW offerings, the F-Series RGBW luminaires also integrate a separate white LED in each of the 18 individually optically lensed RGBW LED configurations. Delivering the ultimate lighting experience, the series’ flagship round (F-BMR1-FS-90) and elongated (F-BME1-V-FS-90) RGBW LED luminaires offer 90-degree optical lensing for lighting mid- to large-scale structures and yachts ranging from 32 feet (10 m) to 100 feet (30 m), with uniform color control and high efficiency.

The F-Series fixtures are designed to be mounted at a depth of up to 15 feet (4.6 m) below the water’s surface to provide vibrant hues and color-changing light in the water. With watertight aluminum bronze housings and silicon bronze hardware, Metro Marine’s luminaires are perfect for marine-based applications such as mounting to yachts, docks, sea walls, as well as for use in fountains and theme park installations.

Capitalizing on years of engineering and industry expertise, Metro Marine also delivers unparalleled patented solutions to the industry’s most common lighting problems, biofouling and condensation. In 2012, while working on a unique lighting project in Long Island Sound, Metro Marine began the journey to combat marine growth on underwater lighting. By integrating ultraviolet C (UVC) light rays commonly used in water purification systems to kill bacteria and prevent buildup into a compact, LED form, Metro Marine crafted the industry’s first underwater lighting fixture impervious to marine growth, in all water types and temperatures. Following a solution to biofouling, Metro Marine completely revamped its assembly process to eliminate condensation and further enhance a fixture’s longevity. While implementing a new Class 1000 clean room in the production process led to a reduction in condensation, Metro Marine engineers went a step further to create a new patented dry gas assembly, similar to those found in the aerospace and medical industries, to completely remove all condensation from the fixtures and remove the potential for corrosion during normal use.

“By crafting a proprietary manufacturing process to prevent marine growth and enhance the lifespan of the light without condensation or corrosion, our team of engineers have notched the benchmark in underwater light fixtures for numerous applications,” said Daniel Deutsch, President of Metro Marine Lighting. “Metro Marine’s new F-Series lineup of full spectrum lighting offers a new level of customization and entertainment. We’re confident that customers will appreciate not only the longevity and low maintenance of these lights, but also the pride in making their vessel or marina the talk of everyone around them.”

Metro Marine’s F-Series Full Spectrum Underwater Lights join the Company’s extensive lineup of underwater lighting fixtures, all featuring the anti-biofouling and anti-condensation technologies, as well as a series of accessories including lighting controllers, wiring and mounts.
