ABYC invites you to join us on June 23 at 1 p.m. ET for Expert Technical Writing Starts with the Standards, a free webinar designed for marine journalists, editors, freelancers and content creators.
Our goal is for this webinar to be a practical resource. As the developer of standards for the design, construction, maintenance and repair of recreational boats, ABYC will share guidance on when standards-based context is useful, how to reference standards accurately, and how our team can help with clarification and connections to subject matter experts.
The discussion will include:
- Understanding the stakes in technical and safety-related marine stories
- What ABYC standards are and how they support boating safety
- When ABYC standards may be relevant in a story
- How to access, read and cite ABYC standards
- How ABYC can support media with clarification, expert interviews and connections to subject matter experts
All attendees will receive a complimentary ABYC membership, providing access to the standards library and other educational content as a resource.
