The Conference Board reports its Leading Economic Index for the U.S. declined 0.2% in June, partially reversing gains from the previous two months.
Weak consumer expectations and fewer building permits outweighed positive financial indicators. Despite softer consumer spending, strong artificial intelligence-related business investment and improving inflation prompted The Conference Board to raise its 2026 economic growth forecast to 1.9%.
