Inspiring future talent at Pittwater Marine Immersion Day

The Marine Jobs Careers Immersion Day at The Quays Marina in Pittwater was a standout success, with just short of 60 students from five local schools taking part in a hands-on introduction to the marine industry.
Students rotated through six interactive stations, each designed to showcase a different discipline within the sector - mechanical, knot tying, maritime operations, vessel and marina operations, trimming, and marine electrical. The format gave students a genuine feel for the diversity of roles available and the practical skills that underpin our industry.
These immersion days continue to play a critical role in exposing school leavers to real career pathways and helping them understand the breadth of opportunities available across the marine sector.
We were pleased to have representation from TAFE NSW and the NSW Department of Education, reinforcing the importance of government and industry working together. This collaboration strengthens the clear and supported pathway for students looking to enter the marine workforce.
The enthusiasm from students and educators alike highlights the growing interest in marine careers and the value of showcasing our industry in an engaging, accessible way.
