Marine Jobs was proud to support a number of marine career outreach and industry engagement activities on the Gold Coast, including The Industry School Gold Coast Open Day, TAFE Queensland Coomera Marine Campus Open Day, the TAFE Coomera Marine Precinct Open Evening, and the Industry Skills Australia Maritime Skills Pipeline Focus Group Session.
These events provided valuable opportunities to engage with prospective students, parents, industry stakeholders, and training providers, highlighting the diverse career pathways available across the marine industry and the growing demand for skilled workers in both marine trades and maritime operations.
At The Industry School Gold Coast Open Day and TAFE Queensland Coomera Marine Campus Open Day, Marine Jobs showcased the broad range of employment, apprenticeship, and training opportunities available within the sector. A key highlight was the new marine training vessel purchased to support delivery of the Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal), providing students and families with a practical demonstration of the hands-on training available for those considering a maritime career.
On Friday, Marine Jobs also supported the TAFE Coomera Marine Precinct Open Evening alongside Maritimo, meeting with young people exploring future pathways in marine trades and maritime operations. The new marine training vessel, Skill Seeker, was on display and attracted strong interest from attendees. Proudly branded with both BIA and Marine Jobs, the vessel demonstrates the strong collaboration between industry and training providers in developing the next generation of maritime professionals and supporting career awareness across the sector.
In addition, Marine Jobs attended the Industry Skills Australia Maritime Skills Pipeline Focus Group Session, where participants were invited to contribute insights into the current and future maritime workforce. Discussions focused on skills demand, workforce pipeline influences, and the maritime workforce lifecycle, helping to identify opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The skills pipeline forms part of the broader Maritime Skills Program of Work led by Industry Skills Australia, ensuring industry input helps shape workforce planning, training priorities, and future skills development strategies for the maritime sector.
