Brisbane confirms onwards positive business sentiment | 2016 Brisbane Boat Show Brisbane Boat Show | The 57th Brisbane Boat Show closed at the weekend, continuing the positive sentiment felt throughout the year. 15,727 visited over the three days with a strong showing from both committed buyers and those looking at ways to enter the lifestyle. The event returned to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre last year and begun the process of rebuilding after some time away.

Australian Sailing will farewell Performance Director Peter Conde after 13 years following his appointment as Director of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Joining Australian Sailing as a consultant following the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Peter was instrumental in the collective development of the Gold Medal Plan which resulted in the creation of the Australian Sailing Team in 2006.

The Australian National Maritime Museum, on behalf of the Australian Government, is pleased to announce that it has awarded over $125,000 to support projects to promote Australia's maritime heritage. The successful recipients of the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme will help, collect, conserve and display objects of historical significance.

This weekend the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club will host their annual rendezvous in Gloucester Passage, Whitsundays, Queensland. With over 1000 boaties, all Vice Commodores of their own special part of the world, joined together for a weekend of festivities and to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Founded in 2009, the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club now has 5739 members from over 17 countries around the world. This not-for-profit organisation is the brain child of Ken & Rhonda Thackerey and was born with the intention of creating a social network for cruising yachties.
