The well-known and respected Australia International Dive Expo (AIDE) will join in this year's Sydney International Boat Show. This gives the diving sector the opportunity to be part of Australia's largest boating event, and is an added bonus to SIBS visitors. Research from last year's show identified that 15% of visitors to our boat show have an interest in diving and snorkelling.
“We are excited to incorporate this new element into the show. The demand for a diving expo has been growing for years” says Domenic Genua from the BIA. “We look forward to growing the expo as a part of the Sydney International Boat Show”.

| Small exporter makes a big splash in International Marine Life Cell Marine Safety |
Australian start-up Life Cell Marine Safety has been named the Small Exporter of the Year at the 2017 Australian International Marine Export Awards. The Life Cell is an Australian invention, created to save lives at sea and has recently achieved massive growth into overseas markets.
Ken Bullen was one of the first industry members that I met back in the early 1980's and after at least thirty years Ken has hung up his lifejacket!

Boat lovers along Sydney's northern beaches can expect equally good support, with a new and passionate owner taking over at KB Marine, the well-known Mercury dealership in North Narrabeen. Qualified marine engineer and former sailor Pami Kohli is now at the helm.

We also bring you John Curnow's article on Poppy Moore who intends to sail around Australia to raise awareness of Parkinson's disease. It's a very sad way to begin such a great voyage. Not that you would know from the ultra-effervescent Poppy Moore, mind you. So the chance to talk with her and learn her tale was fantastic, and she is also the best one to recount it.
