WA’s Dinghy World becomes latest Mercury Dealer

Well known to boat lovers in Perth and beyond, Dinghy World has become Australia’s newest Mercury Dealer.

Owned by Vince and David De Luca for the past 12 years, Dinghy World certainly does a huge trade in dinghies but there’s much more to the business than that as they sell and service a wide range of trailerable boats and engines.

For David, becoming a Mercury Dealer means he can better look after his existing customers and attract new ones.

“We’re in Como, right by the Swan River, and we’re surrounded by yacht clubs and sailing clubs. A lot of those boats have Mercury outboards which all need servicing, parts and accessories,” he said.

“Being a Mercury Dealer also means we have access to Mercury’s full range of outboards which is really going to be a plus for our customers.

“The big engines, the 300 and 350hp outboards, are a Mercury speciality which we haven’t been able to offer before so that also presents up a range of opportunities.”

Mercury Marine’s W.A. Manager, Noula Evagelelis, was more than pleased to welcome Dinghy World aboard.

“Vince and Dave have built a business which is really well known and well respected, and it’s great to see they think that joining forces with Mercury can take them even further.

'They’re proud to be a family business that’s all about honesty and integrity. They certainly know their stuff and they are great to deal with, so we’re really happy to count Dinghy World as a Mercury Dealer.”

David and his brother have been around boats practically their whole lives and they are aware of the Mercury reputation.

“Mercury’s history is unmatched. It’s one of the very first names you hear if you have anything to do with boats so we’re more than happy to be associated with that,” David said.

Along with an extensive range of new boats, Dinghy World also sells quality used boats and vessels on consignment. The team also specialise in all types of fit-ups and repairs, from outboards and bilge pumps, to GPS and sounders, stereos and safety equipment.
