Dear Recipient Name
The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) is delighted to unveil the highly anticipated return of the AIMEX Garden at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 23-26 May.
Held for the duration of the show to support AIMEX, ACMG and Superyacht Australia members, the Garden is open from 7:30am till late each day. The new location alongside the AIMEX Alley in the new Marina BLVD Hall and overlooking the marina creates the perfect backdrop for member networking throughout the week.
Horizon Yachts is pleased to announce its participation in the show too. Two brand new FD builds globally premiered at the 2024 Horizon Open House and the first V74 customized for the Australian market will share the stage on Pier G. Alongside presenting these three headliners, a range of Horizon brokerage yachts will also be available for viewing.
"We are delighted to reveal a lineup at SCIBS targeted at the region's diverse boating audience," said Mark Western, Director at Horizon Yacht Australia. "The show provides an opportunity to experience the Horizon difference firsthand, from the exceptional craftsmanship of our FD90 model to the uniquely Australian-tailored FD80 meeting all AMSA 2C regulations and the V74 with its localized design elements."
Following SCIBS, over 300 delegates have already registered for the Marinas24 International Conference and Trade Exhibition in Brisbane, 27-28 May. The exhibition is 25% bigger than Marinas22 and with only a couple of booths remaining, suppliers who want to sell products to marinas, should contact the MIA staff quickly as this opportunity only comes around every two years!
Also in Queensland, the Boating Industry Association Ltd (BIA) and the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC) are proud to announce the establishment of a second Marine Academy, this time in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Cleveland. BIA and AITC kick started the Academy concept in 2022 for high school students on the Gold Coast.
The AITC is a deliberately different senior school for students pursuing an industry career in Years 10 to 12. BIA CEO Andrew Scott said due to the success of the initial Academy and ongoing industry need for a skilled workforce, the second campus would open from July this year.
Just south of Brisbane, The Gold Coast Waterways Authority is developing the Waterways Place Strategy to facilitate future planning, investment decision-making and management activity of the Gold Coast's waterways. Andrew Fielding (GCWA Board Member) said, "The waterways that weave through the Gold Coast are a very important part of residents' lifestyle, they contribute greatly to the tourism sector, and they play a significant role in the success of South-East Queensland's Marine Industry."
Public consultation is an important part of the decision-making process and the GCWA team are keen to hear from community and industry about what they envisage for the future. To ensure that your opinion is considered in the decisions that will shape the 'Strategy', please take the time (approx 10 minutes) to complete the survey.
