Multihull Central's entry in the Geelong Race Week's Festival of Sails, resulted in a win with the new Corsair 760 trimaran taking out top honours in the Multihull Series on OMR handicap.

Skippered by Stephen Medwell and crewed by Greg Goodall and Multihull Central's Corsair Product Manager, Michael Meehan, the Corsair 760 sailed to victory after consistent results in a wide range of conditions, from very light breezes in the passage race, through to fresh North Easterlies on the final day fighting off tough competition. The Corsair 760 finished with a 1st in the passage race, then another first and two seconds during the weekend's racing at Geelong.

Building on only a few days of racing the week before at the Multihull Championships at Sandringham where they achieved 4th on OMR, Stephen quickly learnt how to make the boat go fast despite it being the first boat in the country and just a few weeks old, "After a few tweaks and shifting gears between hi mode and low mode, we got to work out how to make her go fast," Stephen said, "and the buoyancy in those floats made the big wind conditions fun to sail through."

Corsair's Product Manager in Australia, Michael Meehan, also enjoyed the sail, "We were really pleased with the result and we are looking forward to doing more regattas throughout the year."

The Corsair 760 is now located at Multihull Central's head quarters in Sydney and is available for inspection, test sails and immediate delivery.

Aquila 44 – Lots to love
As a craft, she is quite impressive. Even from the moment you approach her on the quay. As a craft, she is quite impressive. Even from the moment you approach her on the quay. There is something about the Aquila 44, her own je ne sais quoi, if you like. Proportionally she is just right, everything is in the correct place, and with a modern flair, yet one that is not going to date overnight. I think her presence is in her stance, which is kind of funny, given she is a cat. Posted on 7 Jul 2016
