Australia’s iconic boat builders speaking at ASMEX 2018

by Kristiina Lumeste 7 Feb 2018 22:42 PST

Top Australian boat builders with the biggest brands in the Australian market will be taking center stage at ASMEX. Both Wes Moxey, CEO Riviera and Bill Barry Cotter, MD Maritimo will speak candidly with ASMEX MC Martin Redmayne about their views on the current market in Australia, the issues boat builders face, the export opportunities, the availability of skilled labour, how they see the future and what they believe state and federal governments need to do to ensure boat building thrives and survives in Australia.

Both Maritimo and Riviera are leading Australia brands and both support a significant supply chain of Australian manufacturers and service providers. Their contribution to the Australian industry in terms of creating strong global brands helps pave the way for many Australian exporters. Both companies have significant presence at international shows like Fort Lauderdale, and Riviera joins other Australian companies at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) each year ensuring they stay on top of new innovations, products and manufacturing techniques.

It is not often the industry gets to hear the views of these industry stalwarts and to have them both speak at ASMEX is sure to attract many of the key players in Australia's marine industry supply chain. Their stories are well known, both brands have weathered the GFC storm and many other road blocks that boat builders have faced in Australia and globally.

M. Edwards, AIMEX stated "When we have asked industry players who they would like to listen to at ASMEX, Wes Moxey and Bill Barry Cotter appear at the top of the list every time. It is exciting for us that we have managed to secure both these industry personalities. We all have a lot to learn from their experiences as significant players in the Australian industry. The format will be an individual candid interview on stage by Superyacht Report MD Martin Redmayne who has been the ASMEX MC for the past 4 years. There will also be the opportunity for questions from the floor which I am sure many delegates will be keen to utilise."

Registrations for ASMEX are open and can be accessed at www.asmex-conference.com.au

The conference runs from 21-23 May at the Intercontinental Hotel Sanctuary Cove. The programme includes some key social and networking events alongside a very comprehensive programme of international and national speakers covering key international markets, marketing strategies, industry issues, what it takes to be successful in global markets, what is happening in the commercial defence space and much more. A key focus of the conference is to highlight the key issues facing the industry in order to provide a strong message back to Government.

The conference immediately precedes the Sanctuary Cove International Boat show, Australia's premier boat show showcasing Australian excellence, quality, innovation and capability.
