The award winning Aquila 36 has well and truly been on our radar since we tested it, which you can see in our piece The Great Entertainer. Like many, we have subsequently awaited the opportunity to look over the fishing version, which is one of several variants you can have to suit your needs. Since the Aquila 36 was launched some 16 months ago, there have been 45 units sold to date, which is pretty awesome.

You can see all the many ways to spec your Aquila 36 by reading our piece, Alternate Aft Deck Module Layouts.

Our video review of The Great Entertainer when we tested her in Sydney.

So it was at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show that our friends from Multihull Central had a full fishing version on display. It also had the full windscreens, which will be handy for serious work offshore, as well as a genset to run the air conditioning. Her Mercury Verados (250hp as fitted with unto 350hp available and you can now nominate your won preferred brand) will push her along nicely (250s do 16-20 knots cruise and 26 WOT, and the 350s will get you to 36 knots WOT), and we understand that soon there will be the first Aquila 36 with the Diesel outboards (unto 680nm range), and this should mean her 1300 litres of fuel will give exceptional range. Perfect for some serious work on the continental shelf.

The super practical and very spacious Aquila 36 captures a lot of attention wherever she goes, and being on board her is actually even more captivating.
