Helly Hansen is proud to announce the launch of its new branded store in Salcombe, which opened its doors to the public on the 22 June 2018.

A popular seaside town in Devon, Salcombe has been named as the latest location for Helly Hansen's store. The new store will be open seven days a week, stocking the latest sailing and outdoor collections from the leading technical sailing brand, trusted by professionals all around the globe.

An official opening event will be held on Sunday 8 July, where VIPs will join the new staff in celebrating the opening of the store. This coincides with the kick-off of Merlin Rocket Week – a family friendly sailing regatta, welcoming over 120 boats and more than 240 families to the town. Helly Hansen has teamed up with the organisers of this key event in the town's calendar, and will be offering daily race prizes and discounts for all competitors throughout the week.

Located just 2.7km from Salcombe's local RNLI lifeboat station, the store is central to the local community. Staff have been recruited from the area and welcomes everyone, including four-legged friends. The new Team Leader, Pete Bennett, is currently training to become a fully-fledged RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat (ALB) crewman. Pete is due to qualify in November 2018, and will specialise in navigation and radar. Pete is the perfect fit for the store, following Helly Hansen's recent announcement that it will be the RNLI's Official Clothing Partner for the next five years.

Commenting on the opening of the new store, Piers Barnes, General Manager for Helly Hansen and Musto, says, "The store opening is a great milestone for the Helly Hansen group, as we continue to nurture our position as the global leader in sailing. Salcombe is the perfect platform for us to connect with the local sailing community and professionals, and is located close to one of the 238 RNLI lifeboat stations we're now working with. We're looking forward to the official opening and hope the public joins us over the week to celebrate."

The new store will be located at 74 Fore Street, Salcombe, Devon, TQ8 8BU.
