Mulpha Australia has announced that well-known industry figure and 2017 Marina Manager of the Year (Marine 17) Steve Sammes is the new general manager of the Sanctuary Cove Marina.

Mr Sammes appointment follows a 12 year posting as General Manager of Corporate Services at Gold Coast City Marina and an impressive career credentials including one of the founding directors of the Global Marina Institute (GMI), former board director of the Marina Industries Association (MIA) and the third-ever marina manager in Australia to be awarded the internationally recognised Certified Marina Manager (CMM) designation.

Now a current Boating Industry Association (BIA) Queensland Council member, and Chairman of the Queensland Marina Division, Mr Sammes said he looked forward to his future with Mulpha and the Sanctuary Cove Marina team.

"The Sanctuary Cove Marina is the premier marina of the Gold Coast for recreational vessels offering unparalleled amenity as part of an integrated report, retail, entertainment and marina destination," Mr Sammes said.

"Mulpha intends to broaden the service offer and undertake significant reinvestment into the marina to position the marina as the first choice for berth holders of recreational vessels well into the future.

"A key component of this is integrating other assets of Sanctuary Cove, such as the golf course, village and hotel, to make the overall experience even more enjoyable for our marina berth holders."

Sanctuary Cove Marine Village is the home of marine luxury brands Maritimo, Fairline, Alaska, Integrity, Whitehaven and Horizon, and of course the Southern hemisphere's premier boat show, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

With direct access to the Pacific Ocean via the protected waterways of the Gold Coast Broadwater and the Coomera River, Sanctuary Cove Marina is a world-class precinct that offers unique leisure and lifestyle opportunities for berth holders.

With personal berthing assistance and premier facilities, it boasts more than 226 moorings for all vessels including superyachts.

Awarded five gold anchors for the category of residential harbour-estate marinas along with a level 3 Clean Marina accreditation, Sanctuary Cove Marina berth holders can experience the development's many award-winning offerings, from staying at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort to enjoying the vibrant lifestyle of The Marine Village.
