Alexander Marine Australia hosted the official premiere of the Galeon Yachts brand into Australia and NZ.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate joined leaders of the business and boating communities, owners, industry colleagues and media to toast the unveiling of the first models of the highly-awarded Polish-built motor yachts, which were lit up on the hardstand and provided the perfect backdrop for the evening's revelry.

The event, themed "Shaken Not Stirred", involved a covetable line-up of prestige Aston Martin and McLaren automobiles, diamond jewellery from Calleija and sensational entertainment complete with pyrotechnics and stunt bikes leaping across the bow of the Galeon!

Guests were able to step aboard the two Galeon models: the the 460 Fly and 510 Skydeck, both packed with award-winning innovations of design and engineering.

Described as "tricked out cruisers", these motor yachts are the product of a successful design partnership with UK-based Tony Castro Design Studio.

They both boast the ingenious Galeon 'Beach Mode' which is sure to turn heads everywhere they moor. These cantilevered aft side, fold-out balconies, to port and starboard, extend the usable cockpit width to 6 metres wide a feature sure to delight guests onboard for the additional space and ambience they create.

At 14.35m (47-feet), the Galeon 460 Fly comprises a spacious Flybridge that is ideal for guests to enjoy the alfresco lifestyle in complete comfort, with generous-sized table and seating, wet bar and sunpads adjacent to the helm, plus a retractable bimini for protection from the elements.

The second model is the Galeon 510 Skydeck, with a length overall of 16.2m (53-feet) which takes innovation one step further with its ability to combine the advantages of a bridge deck with the distinct, sporty look of a hardtop.

Within a few short minutes a spacious open air flybridge area and helm station can be configured, simply and conveniently, without removing and stowing away multiple covers.

Alexander Marine Australia Dealer Principal, Todd Holzapfel informed guests of Galeon's 35 year-pedigree, constant evolution and highly awarded range.

"Galeon is known worldwide as a game-changer. In the US, in just three years since its launch in 2016, Galeon is the top selling brand in the competitive 30 to 78ft segment which is phenomenal!," he said.

"Galeon motor yachts are totally unique thanks to the design input of internationally-regarded naval architects and a talented design team. You will be amazed by the innovative design features such as aft side fold out balconies and the versatile window systems featured on board each vessel.

"We're sure Australian and NZ boaties and newcomers to boating will be just as impressed with the Galeon range as we are!"

Side by side on the hardstand and looking impressive from all angles, was the new, 40th anniversary, limited edition Ocean Alexander 88 Skylounge, a true superyacht with all the hallmarks of the brand in one package.

Ocean Alexander is ranked 6th in the world by length for builders 78 feet (24m) and above according to Boat International's 2019 Global Order Book.

The four-stateroom and two crew cabin layout of the Ocean Alexander 88 Skylounge suits large families and groups who will enjoy the versatility of multiple interior and exterior leisure zones.

Ideal for the Aussie climate, whether in the winter squalls or the balmy tropics, the massive climate controlled skylounge allows for all-weather entertaining and doubles as an extra lounge and dining space for entertaining with a bird's eye view.

While the OA88 showcases a continued evolution of design, it retains Ocean Alexander's world-class heritage of engineering for safety, performance and comfort.

For ease and convenience, the OA88 Skylounge boasts joystick docking and position hold courtesy of the Glendinning Stationkeeper Position and Heading Hold System technology. For ultimate comfort and stability in all conditions, the OA88 is zero speed stabilized using the award-winning Side Power curved fins.

"We are thrilled to be able to show the Ocean Alexander 88 Skylounge to a receptive audience at the upcoming Australian Superyacht Rendezvous at Gold Coast City Marina, 18 and 19 May, followed by their public debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 23 to 26 May," said Todd Holzapfel.
