Many of the world's best motors will be on show at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), with visitors spoilt for choice courtesy of engines from brands including CAT, Mercury Marine, Mercruiser, Yamaha, Evinrude, Penske, Volvo Penta, John Deere, Cummins and Suzuki.

"We are thrilled to welcome back the gamut of inboard and outboard engines for another year," SCIBS Sales & Partnership Manager Dominic O'Brien said.

"For boaties and B2B visitors in the trade, the line-up of innovations and advances in motors is always fascinating and very popular," said Mr O'Brien.

In the inboard segment, Yanmar, represented by Power Equipment, will present the new Yanmar ZT370 sterndrive model, which features a hydraulic multi-disc clutch that delivers exceptionally smooth and quiet gear engagement.

The ZT370 sterndrive is available in various gear ratios, making it an excellent propulsion source for recreational motorboats and light-duty commercial vessels in both single and dual installations.

Featuring the very latest electronically managed common rail fuel injection system, 4LV engines give boat owners class-leading power-to-weight ratios, powerful low-end torque performance and outstanding acceleration.

Power Equipment will also showcase the John Deere 4045SFM85 turbocharged marine propulsion engine, which boasts high torque and low-rated RPM, the MASE marine generator, Gori propellers and the popular Torqeedo electric outboard, the light, super-silent propulsion for all kinds of craft from kayaks to 80ft cats.

Seamech - Volvo Penta's authorised centre in Queensland - will present a range of Volvo Penta products, including a compact engine (D2-75), gas engine (V6-380) and IPS15 drive.

Coinciding with a campaign focused on gas engines, Seamech will have material promoting repowering boats with the latest Volvo Penta engines and also host several seminars at the Riviera Festival for key customers, allowing them to experience the ease and capabilities of the Volvo Penta Inboard Propulsion System (IPS drive).

Meanwhile, Swedish brand Scania will exhibit a 13L 6-cylinder engine rated at 925hp at SCIBS.

The preference of many boat brands, Scania marine engines are based on a robust design with a strength-optimised cylinder block containing wet cylinders and individual cylinder heads. The engine is equipped with a Scania-developed Engine Management System (EMS) in order to ensure the control of all aspects related to engine performance.

The injection system is Scania's XPI (Extra High Pressure Injection), a common rail system that gives low exhaust emissions with exceptional fuel economy and extraordinary high torque.

The engine can be equipped with many accessories including air cleaners, PTOs, transmission and instrumentation in order to suit each installation.

Scania Brand & Communications Manager Ron Szulc said: "SCIBS is by far the most productive show we participate in. It's well-organised and well-attended."

STEYR Motors has chosen SCIBS 2019 for the global debut of sleek sports cruiser Focus Power 33, which is fitted with twin STEYR Motors 266S36, 260hp engines.

This is an upgrade from the boat's standard 220hp engines and it can also accommodate the smaller 230Hp or larger 280Hp motors in the same envelope.

McIntyre Equipment is the exclusive importer and service support for Focus, in collaboration with Swan Super Lines as Queensland dealer.

McIntyre Equipment Director Rob McIntyre said: "I've spent a decade researching the global sports cruiser market, looking for a stand-out all-rounder that would accommodate our STEYR engines and bring a new level of quality and performance to this segment.

"The 266 engines take the boat from 33 knots to around 37 knots. It certainly gives the boat more legs as you can comfortably cruise at 30 knots, meaning a more economical fuel consumption and longer range."

Penske Power Systems will present two MTU marine diesel engines the MTU Series 60 and MTU 8V2000M94, with support, product and service information on engines with kW power over 615kW.

The Penske team will also be on hand to discuss the brand's new Hybrid drive concepts, which reflect the global trend towards more efficient and environmentally friendly engines.

Also returning to SCIBS in 2019 is Marine Diesel, headed by owner and operator Steven Shale and the largest-selling John Deere marine dealer in Australia.

Specialising in marine diesel and industrial engine maintenance, installations and sales, the company is also the Australian distributor for the range of Nanni Diesel marine engines and generators, which have been based on tried and trusted John Deere-based engines.

In the outboard segment, Suzuki will be prominent in its dedicated 'Suzuki Street display on Quay Street.

On display will be Haines Signature models and Seafarer boats, powered by Suzuki, along with motors ranging from 2.5hp to the flagship 350hp duo prop model, ideal for boats up to 41ft offshore vessels, in multiple configurations.

Suzuki dealers from around South-East Queensland will be attending, all with boat show offers and special packages, while the Suzuki factory team will be on hand to field questions.

In its traditional spot on Masthead Way, Honda Marine will present an array of new outboards, including a very special, one-off, gold-wrapped V6 BF250 to commemorate Honda Australia's 50th birthday.

As the biggest engine manufacturer in the world, Honda can assure customers it has the credentials to deliver what they are looking for.

Honda's new and improved V6 range - the BF200, BF225 and BF250 - is a showcase of engineering and technical excellence. Backed by 3.6L V6 engines with a compact 24-valve SOHC design, this exceptional refreshed V6 range is a leader in Honda performance, reliability, and durability.

The sleek profiles also allow for easy installation, particularly in multiple engine configurations.

Corrosion resistance is also improved with a new coating on the surface of engine hardware that utilises a chemically treated, zinc-nickel plating with a high corrosion-resistant top coat.

"We're sure visitors to SCIBS 2019 will find plenty of information and experts to assist them in the choice of motors for new power and sail craft, and myriad options to re-power existing vessels," Mr O'Brien said.
