The Thailand Charter Week (TCW) will run from the 16th to the 21st of November 2019 at the Phuket Yacht Haven Marina and be coordinated with the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show. The TCW will not be open to the general public as it is a B2B (business to business) charter event aimed at promoting Thailand as an international charter destination. It is based on the model of the Antigua Charter Yacht Show and the MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona.

The event is designed for international brokers, luxury travel agencies and tour operators to meet local agencies and discover some of the best charter yachts operating in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Throughout the week, the event will host several round tables and presentations on various charter destinations.

The first three days will be dedicated to visiting the yachts on display in Yacht Haven, located on the north-east coast of Phuket, a short distance from the international airport. The Yacht Haven is a marina with a capacity for 320 boats, superyachts up to 100m in length, and a draught of 6m.

The last three days will be marked by day and night “familiarisation” cruises on board the participating yachts to destinations around Phuket and in the Andaman Sea. The event will be followed by the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show (November 21-24) in the Gulf of Thailand.

For the first year the target is 15 to 20 crewed charter yachts from 15 metres and above and 40 international charter brokers.

Matthew Na Nagara, President of TYBA, which counts nearly 40 members, said: “The Thailand Yacht Business Association is very pleased to announce the first Thailand Charter Week at Phuket Yacht Haven, a beautiful location for yachts of all sizes. Yacht Haven is ideal to visit and learn about yachts as well as to discover the beautiful cruise destinations around Phuket.” The event will be managed by an organizing committee of TYBA members including Fraser, Camper & Nicholsons, Northrop & Johnson, and local and regional charter companies.

An organising committee of TYBA members will run the event with the participation of Fraser, Camper & Nicholsons, Northrop & Johnson, Asia Yacht Agency and other local charter companies. There will also be tentative collaboration with MYBA as discussed at the recent MYBA charter show in Barcelona.
