  • Flexiteek International is the global leader in synthetic teak decking and 2G technology
  • The company will mark its 20th anniversary in 2020
  • Latest products on display at Southampton International Boat Show Stand J266
  • This Boat Show marks the first time the two brands will exhibit together since the acquisition earlier this year

Flexiteek International, the global leader in synthetic teak decking and 2G technology, has announced its successful acquisition of Wilks, the manufacturer and supplier of Dek-King®, the high-quality synthetic teak decking, and marine fendering.

To mark the occasion, 30 of the company's international distributors, spanning 12 countries, attended Flexiteek's global dealer meeting today at the Southampton International Boat Show, including the company's largest merchant from the United States.

The successful consolidation of the Essex-based company reinforces Flexiteek's offerings to a broader network, growing the company's international footprint and reaffirming its position in the marine industry.

Chris Berry, Joint Managing Director of Wilks, commented on the merge: "We're delighted to see Wilks join Flexiteek International. We are confident that by joining forces, the international marine market will receive the highest quality offerings through our wide network of global distributors."

With the integration of the company's workforce across its two UK manufacturing premises, Flexiteek will now offer a wider range of products to its clients with a focus on developing the company's existing services. These include the innovative 2G technology which has been fundamental in the design of the Flexiteek 2G™? lightweight synthetic decking, the in-house development of its extruding facility and its marine fendering ranges. The company is also taking strides towards a more sustainable approach to business, including its recycled PVC extrusion.

As part of these development plans, Flexiteek will utilise the latest technology for deck design, offering its customers greater flexibility in deck layout, plank width and the customisation and integration of graphics and logos within its products.

Tomas Gustafsson, CEO of Flexiteek International AB, commented on the acquisition: "With next year being the company's 20th anniversary of being the world's first and largest market leader in synthetic teak decking, this result is part of the company's wider strategy to increase our global services and reach new markets. With this merge, Flexiteek will continue to provide a high-quality manufacturing base for research and development facilities, ensuring the company continues to innovate and evolve its first-class synthetic decking systems for the future."

Attendees of the Southampton International Boat Show can visit the Flexiteek team and view their wide range of products daily at Stand J266, from 13-22 September 2019.
