GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies), a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced today that it will showcase its award-winning Universal Control Unit (UCU) at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The next generation control module is now used with the GOST Apparition and NT-Evolution product lines. GOST will be located at booth #315 in the Electronics Tent at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center.
"After listening to feedback from marine electronics dealers and boat owners, and over a year in development, our next generation UCU includes many new, highly anticipated features," said Brian Kane, Chief Technology Officer, GOST. "The new modules include lower power draw with DC cutoff to assure protection of the vessels batteries, dual battery backup, a broadened 10-32VDC input voltage specification, and an easier user interface are some of the many exciting changes we look forward to demonstrating at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show."
The Universal Control Unit is designed to simplify GOST's product line. Regardless of what style boat it is being installed on, the UCU is the only system on the market offering the capability of security, monitoring, tracking and surveillance, integrated together in one system. Whether the UCU is being used on a high-end center console, sportfish, or a superyacht, this new platform can operate over both cellular and Inmarsat Geostationary Satellite networks, allowing for true global coverage. It includes a full-function app for offsite control to arm/disarm and control relay switches while allowing notification via push notification and SMS text message.
Local arming features still include the ability to do so via key fob or optional user friendly 5- or 7-inch touchscreen keypads. The next generation UCU can communicate with up to 32 wireless sensors, 5 relays and 32 users/key fobs. The system includes, wireless completely independent door/hatch contacts, infrared beam sensors, deck pressure sensors, high water sensors, DC battery low voltage, AC shore power loss and smoke detectors, to name a few of the more popular sensors. The internal LTE/4G/3G communicator provides cellular control with app and text messaging. Additionally, the UCU can work with any existing internet onboard via its third party CAT5 ethernet plug as GOST recognizes that many boats already have internet and there is no need to pay for a second cellular/Vsat connection.
