This week in Miami, Volvo Penta will be displaying an array of Easy Boating solutions aimed at creating the ultimate onboard experience regardless of propulsion type.

The company will participate in the Miami International Boat Show and the Miami Yacht Show, both taking place February 13-17, 2020.

Miami International Boat Show

Volvo Penta will showcase a full range of innovative propulsion solutions in Booth F272 and on the water in Pier 1, Slips 125-128.

Highlights include:

  • Volvo Penta's new D4/D6 propulsion package, which has been totally re-engineered to provide increased performance, better fuel efficiency and extended and simplified service capabilities. Updates include the newly designed engines, a completely new DPI Aquamatic sterndrive which brings increased comfort and maneuverability, an updated IPS drive and an upgraded Electronic Vessel Control System (EVC) for a fully integrated experience.

  • The new silent shift feature, enabling smooth and silent shifting across the entire range of Volvo Penta sterndrives for enhanced levels of comfort. Visitors to the show can experience the difference for themselves on one of the Volvo Penta-powered boats on the docks.

  • A Seven Marine 627 hp, featuring Volvo Penta EVC and DuoProps for unparalleled power performance. Earlier this week, Volvo Penta announced the start of production of Seven Marine engines at the company's wholly-owned facility in Lexington, Tenn. where all the company's gasoline engines are manufactured for global distribution.

  • Sponsorship of the Volvo Penta Conservation stage, located in the Costa Conservation Village, where a variety of environmentally focused seminars and panel discussions will take place.
Miami Yacht Show

Showcasing the world's most extraordinary and uniquely designed yachts and superyachts, the Miami Yacht Show takes place on Biscayne Bay in Downtown Miami. Volvo Penta will be located in Booth 200A, where the Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 will be presented. The company recently announced expansion of its IPS propulsion system to the larger yachting segment with the updated D13 IPS 1350 semi-displacement (SD). The new-edition Volvo Penta D13 propulsion system's torque curve has been expertly modified to cope with higher thrust loads at slower speeds. The D13 IPS 1350 SD also has a wider speed range down to 19 knots (formerly 25 knots).

"I am looking forward to meeting with our valued dealers, boatbuilding partners, boat owners and industry stakeholders in Miami," said Martin Bjuve, who became president and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas last month. "It's always one of the most exciting events on the boating industry calendar, and this year will be no exception. We're keeping up with our longstanding reputation for leading the way with industry-first innovations that make it easier than ever to enjoy the unique boating lifestyle."
