Highly-anticipated Excess 12 has her Asia Pacific premiere in Australia

by Beneteau Asia Pacific 2 Nov 2020 06:21 PST

Launched by Groupe Beneteau in 2018, the young catamaran brand Excess, targeted at new-generation owners and sailors is gaining popularity among the international sailing community.

Starting from this September, Excess has embarked on the Excess Tour worldwide. With the staunch support of the brand's global network, new Excess catamarans are displayed around the world, onboard viewings and sea trials are organized as well.

This August, the first Excess 12 in Asia Pacific arrived in Sydney, Australia, commissioned by our dealer in the country Flagstaff Marine. She had her Asia Pacific debut during the Excess Tour in Sydney held from October 16th to 18th, and was warmly received.

Inspired by the design of the racing boats, the Excess 12 is a no-compromise performance cruiser, fast and fun to sail. With her twin helm stations located at the stern of the boat, light and precise helm, as well as all sail trimming at your fingertips, the Excess 12 offers great maneuverability and thrilling sensations while sailing. The double foldable seats at the helm stations offer comfort for steering, once unfolded, they provide easy access to the aft transom.

The retractable Bimini over the cockpit is one of the highlights on the boat, open for visibility or starry sky at night, closed for protection and privacy, to suit your own desires. The model has spacious volume with the option of a three double cabin or four double cabin version.

The Excess 12 has won recognitions from our customers and the industry. She was the Multihull of the Year 2020, in the category of under 40 feet, voted by owners, and sailing enthusiasts around the world. She was also awarded the Boat of the Year 2020 in the Midsize Cruising Catamaran division, run by the prestigious American publishing title Cruising World.

More Excess catamarans will hit the waters in Asia Pacific. The owner of the first Excess 15 in New Zealand has enrolled in this year's ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) to enjoy the fun and excitement of transatlantic adventure. This model was sold by our dealer in New Zealand, 36 Degrees Brokers.

The first Excess 11 in Asia Pacific will arrive in Japan in January, 2021, sold by our dealer in Japan, First Marine. The exciting news is that the Excess 11 is nominated the European Yacht of the Year 2021, in the "Family Cruiser" category. The result will be revealed during boot Düsseldorf next January.

The Excess Tour goes on, more Excess catamaran events in the Asia Pacific region to come, stay tuned.
