The Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival is a beacon of light for the future! While COVID-19 has wiped out most of Australia's boat shows this year, one coming together is about to take place in South East Queensland.
Included in the exhibitor's list is global boat builder Maritimo. Four popular models from the leading luxury motor yacht manufacturer at its on-water brand display are set to create a wave of interest at the Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival. The Maritimo on-water display is headlined by the revolutionary new X50R Performance Edition sport yacht and the announcement of an exciting new Sedan Motor Yacht, scheduled for its world premiere in May 2021.

And more advice from on line retailer We are Marine. Now there's gear, and there's good gear. A favourite t-shirt versus a Henri-Lloyd jacket, for example. Ideally, over time you want all of your gear to be extremely well made, functional and fit for purpose. When you're sailing the last thing you need is water seeping in through a poorly taped seam. But in reality, we all end up with a range of extremely good items, and a lot of pretty average bits and pieces. Which is just fine! So for the items you've paid a decent amount for, and even to make the lower cost items last a little longer - here's a few tips, picked up along the way, that should help.
The drive to produce electric propulsion continues and Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) continues to develop solutions to further improve boater experiences both by advancing the efficiency and capabilities of its core product lines and through its ACES (Autonomy, Connectivity, Electrification and Shared Access) strategy. In order to advance this strategy, Brunswick is establishing new leaders with strong technology experience and strengthening its development capability and investments in electrification technology and programs, in addition to autonomy and connectivity.
New products this week include the new version of the NEX sail furler, which was released earlier this year in Australia, features many innovations and technical improvements, resulting from the Profurl expertise gained since the French company launched the first version of the NEX 15 years ago. The trademark mechanisms remain the same, the only one to use bearings made from very hard 100C6 carbon steel, which allow furling even under high loads (no crushing of the balls). The new range currently has seven models covering all sizes of sails (up to 350m2 for the off the shelf models, however larger custom sizes are also available on request). They can be used on a variety of sails, including Code 0, screecher, spinnaker as well as staysails.
Ensign Yachts have a new share boating program. On offer is an exciting new Yacht Share opportunity - quarter shares in the all new Bavaria Yachts C42 available for only $139,500 each, all inclusive. This is an opportunity to be an owner of the yacht that crowds queued for hours to see at BOOT 2020 - the Dusseldorf International Boat Show in January this year. The C42 is the latest Cossutti designed model released by Bavaria Yachts - Italian designed while engineered and produced in Germany, a perfect combination. Pricing is for a luxuriously appointed and well equipped "Style" model ready to sail away and includes upgraded engine, advanced navigation pack, upgraded entertainment pack, sail ready pack, upgraded sails with furling main and self-tacking jib and a variety of other luxury features. Other yachts available including the Bavaria Yachts C50, the Nautitech Open 40 and Open 46 catamarans, the new Bavaria Vida 33 motor yachts and more to come!
Navico have announced the arrival of a premium multi-station black box marine radio system - the SIMRAD® RS100 and RS100-B. The latter integrated with a Class-B AIS transceiver and GPS. These systems are expandable and customisable to suit any boat and any on-water communication needs. The RS100 and RS100-B are modular VHF systems that are expandable up to eight handsets (four wired and four wireless) and four external speakers - ideal for use as an on-board intercom on larger boats. The wireless handsets duplicate the radio display and controls on easy-to-read screens viewable under all lighting conditions, even bright sunlight. All primary functions are accessible from the handset with channel scan and favourites, alphanumeric keypad, clear audio, handset station naming and 60-second audio rewind. And with inductive charging (cordless charging), you are only a push of a button away from staying in touch, no matter where you are on the boat.
