by Andrew Golden 26 Nov 2020 08:46 PST

America's Boating Club® announced today the launch of a powerful new mobile resource for boaters - the America's Boating Club app. Offering an all-in-one information asset for a great day on the water, the new application for smartphones and tablets provides nautical reference information, access to maintenance records, usable float plans, weather information, tides and currents, and much more.

"We have been dedicated to offering safe boating education for over 100-years," said Mary Paige Abbott, chief commander, America's Boating Club. "As technology has evolved, we have continually searched for new ways to give people the information they need. This free app is the perfect resource and a helpful tool for boaters of all experience levels."

The America's Boating Club app uses a device's internal GPS to provide current location information. It has an Emergency section that provides a boat's information to respond to emergencies or give assistance if needed. Once logged in, users can also create a virtual log and easily file float plans. The Resources section includes a vast database of helpful information including links to the National Weather Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) tide charts, Aids to Navigation, lights and communication flag information, and a section on how to tie knots. Users can also use the app to request a free vessel safety check from their local squadron.

For over 100-years, America's Boating Club has provided unsurpassed boating safety and education. Offering classes For Boaters, By Boaters® in boat handling, navigation, boat maintenance, weather and many related subjects, America's Boating Club serves as a community with activities for all types of recreational boaters. With over 20,000 members organized into 300 local squadrons across the country; they are comprised of families who boat together, learn together and contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education.
