This week Sail America released its first-ever Sailing Industry Economic Outlook Report.
The report showed that though particular sectors of the industry struggled through 2020, due to the impact Covid had on events and boat shows, the overall outlook for 2021 is positive. In 2020, new sailboat sales, based on sailboat registration, were down, but there was an increase in the used boat sales market.
The report is free to Sail America members. Members will receive an email in the next few weeks with a link to a free copy of the report. Those attending Sail America's upcoming virtual events will also receive a free copy. Meanwhile, non-members and others can purchase a copy for $30 by visiting www.sailamerica.com.
This report was developed by Sail America staff, using data it gathered in collaboration with InfoLink Technologies, Inc., a market analysis group. This includes data on high-level sailboat sales and registrations. The report also shares the industry's economic and business confidence outlook.
