Sailing Instructors wanted at Pacific Sailing School

Pacific Sailing School is the longest running Sailing School in Australia and operates both Australian Sailing and RYA courses.

Operating out of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, home of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, we are looking for Keelboat Instructors to deliver structured courses within the National Keelboat Program.

Teaching on one of our International J/24 inshore keelboats with up to four course participants on board, lessons are conducted within the confines of Sydney Harbour. All instructors assist with setting up equipment, rigging boats, cleaning and maintaining gear and packing away at the end of a session.

During the busy Summer the International J/24s are on the water 7-days a week, with up to three sessions daily. We also participate in twilight races, regattas, State and National Championships and Corporate Sailing activities. Regular theory and social nights form part our core course outlines. At other times of the year, we operate 6 days a week with up to two sessions daily.

Pre-requisites:

  • prior sailing experience in dinghy or keelboat
  • ability to communicate in English
  • Australian Citizenship or Working Visa

Becoming a qualified Keelboat Instructor

  • Successfully complete a two day Australian Sailing Keelboat Instructor course
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
