Insights into Marine Early-Warning Fire Detection & Prevention Systems

President and co-founder of Blue Guard Innovations (BGI), Zdravko "Z" Divjak will be taking his years of marine monitoring and control innovation and boating experience to center stage at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Divjak will be presenting two seminars to educate boaters about fire prevention and early-warning detection.
The 30-minute seminar(s) held on Thursday and Saturday of FLIBS (Oct. 27 - 31) will focus on the importance of installing early-warning fire detection systems on your boat and what measures you should take to prepare in case of a fire emergency. The main causes of boat fires, the devastating consequences, and how to mitigate fire-related disasters will be discussed. In addition, we will describe what fire prevention and detection resources are available to you today and guide you on actionable steps you can take to ensure the safety of you, your passengers, your property and the environment.
"There are numerous events in the news about boats becoming engulfed in flames and eventually sinking to the bottom of the sea, this is a serious matter," says Zdravko Divjak, President of BGI. "The damage caused is unthinkable - lives are being taken, millions of dollars of property are being lost, and hundreds of gallons of fuel and toxic fumes are causing enormous environmental devastation. It still amazes me that there are no requirements for pleasure boats with living quarters to be protected by a smoke alarm."
