The next boot Düsseldorf will take place from 22 to 30 January 2022. Messe Düsseldorf has decided to hold boot 2022 as planned after consultations with the exhibiting branches and consistent implementation of the current Covid Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

  • Trade fair consistently implements North Rhine-Westphalian Covid Protection Ordinance and creates confidence
  • Messe Düsseldorf CEO Wolfram Diener: "We have a responsibility towards our exhibitors".
  • Global market leaders on board
  • Industry looks forward to the start in January

Oriented to the regulations that apply to the retail trade, only visitors who comply with the vaccinated or recovered regulation may enter the fairgrounds during boot. In addition, wearing a particle filtering half or medical mask is compulsory in all halls. The latest air exchange regulators also ensure a regular supply of fresh air in the exhibition halls.

Messe Düsseldorf CEO Wolfram Diener: "Messe Düsseldorf has a responsibility towards both the exhibitors and the large water sports community to hold boot 2022. Since we already updated our access regulations a fortnight ago with regard to the vaccinated or recovered regulations, we are fully on track with boot 2022 even under the new regulations in the current Covid Protection Ordinance. With our tried and tested hygiene concept 'PROTaction', we will offer all participants a safe trade fair. The approval from the water sports industry for boot 2022 is good. We will be able to put on another boot in 2022 to kick off the new season."

The non-participation of some luxury, sailing yacht and motor boat manufacturers is regrettable and objectively incomprehensible for Messe Düsseldorf, adds boot Project Director Petros Michelidakis. However, with global market leaders such as Princess and Sunseeker in the luxury yacht, Bavaria Yachtbau as Germany's largest sports boat manufacturer for sail and motor boats and Hallberg Rassy in the sailing boat segment, there is "a lot on offer" and a great boat show with a wide range of products for the visitors. Michelidakis: "We are very happy about the good support of our friends from the boating industry. Our partner associations, the German Marine Federation and, at international level, the European Boating Industry, are also working with great commitment and enthusiasm to plan a successful boot 2022".

Overall, the Düsseldorf trade fair organizers can look forward to good support from the exhibiting industries. There will also be hands-on activities such as the surf wave "THE WAVE", wingsurfing and foiling on the 65m long action pool or trial diving in the new diving tower thanks to the chlorine-disinfected water. Masks are compulsory in audience and the required distance regulations are consistently observed.

The exhibitors are already in the starting blocks for boot. Below are some testimonials about participating in boot 2022.

Martin Guscott, Exhibition Manager Sunseeker International: "We are really excited to be back at the one of, if not the largest indoor boat show in the world - boot Dusseldorf. We have an incredible line-up, including the global premiere of the Sunseeker Predator 65 which will take centre stage among the fantastic display of yachts. This has been an accumulation of months of planning and organising, from boat deliveries up the River Rhine, all the way down to the finer details to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all that visit - we are ready and excited to welcome guests to our stand and hopefully, to join the Sunseeker Family."

Sunseeker luxury yachts, known to the public from the James Bond films "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" among others, feature industry-leading architectural and technical innovations, and upscale interior design. At the company's headquarters in Poole in Great Britain, 150 luxury yachts are built annually.

"For Bavaria Yachts, boot in Düsseldorf is the most important international water sports fair. As a long-standing partner, we will be represented with five motor boats in Hall 1 and five sailing yachts in Hall 16. We are looking forward to boot 2022 and your visitors," Marc Diening, CEO Bavaria Yachtbau.

Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH in Giebelstadt, Bavaria, operates the largest recreational boatyard for sailing and motor boats in Germany. Up to 1,200 motor and sailing boats can be built at the shipyard each year.

Fanis Kiriacoulis, CEO of Kiriacoulis Charter, is a real fan of boot Düsseldorf and will also be on board in 2022 at the "destination seaside": "boot 2022 is the impulse generator for our industry for bookings from spring onwards. Here, those interested in chartering can see their boats and yachts live on site and book directly with us. Individual advice, which takes place "face to face" at boot 2022 - with mask and vaccinated or recovered inspection, of course - also plays a major role. People want to prepare well for the 'most beautiful weeks of the year', their holiday, and get individual tips from us on how to organize their sailing trip. Participation in boot 2022 is a matter of course for us."

Kiriacoulis Charter is the largest charter company of sailing boats in the Mediterranean and the third largest provider worldwide. The Greek company offers 400 sailing yachts in 25 bases.

Hans Roelants, General Manager Sea Ray International, one of the largest recreational boat manufacturers in the world: "Sea Ray International has been a partner with boot Düsseldorf for many years. Although the current Covid-19 situation continues to change on a daily basis, we strongly believe in the power of boot Düsseldorf and physical boat shows in general. We are confident in the safety regulations that boot Dusseldorf is putting in place and will have very strict protocols for all our employees as well throughout the duration of the show. As of now, we are planning to exhibit at boot Dusseldorf 2022 and will continue to make preparations to ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, and attendees. Should the situation worsen, and make it impossible to exhibit, or put jeopardize the health and safety of our employees, we will adjust accordingly.

Harald Kuhnle, CEO Kuhnle-Tours GmbH: "Our experience last season was that the vast majority of our guests were vaccinated. Our stand crew will also be fully boosted and looking forward to 'corona-proof' conversations with visitors to the fair. Besides, I have known Messe Düsseldorf and especially the boot team for over 40 years as a super-competent trade fair organizer. If anyone can manage to organize a fair safely and hygienically in Corona times, it's the people from Düsseldorf. We'll pack our sauna houseboat on a truck and come to boot in January!"

The houseboat rental company Kuhnle have more than 100 boats in operation in Germany and France.

Marc Rutgers, Managing Director of the major European water sports wholesaler ALLPA: "We at ALLPA are looking forward to boot 2022. We will meet our European customers there. I trust that Messe Düsseldorf, taking into account the current protection regulation in Germany and with the vaccinated or revocered regulation for visitors, will offer our industries a good and safe place to do business."
