Caframo strategy leads to record growth

Caframo, manufacturer of premium-quality indoor and outdoor comfortable living solutions under the SEEKR by Caframo brand, has posted record growth for 2021. The 50% year-over-year increase is due to an expansion strategy that focuses sharply on supporting existing customer demand, without losing sight of new segment exploration efforts that began before the pandemic.
To support the exceptional demand for its products, Caframo increased all aspects of its manufacturing. It doubled its production space to 1,486sqm and added two new 240 ton ABS plastic injection molding machines. The latter eliminates the company's brief reliance on outsourcing plastic components.
Additionally, Caframo grew its production workforce by 24 people and added 12 more to design, quality assurance and support roles. The plant's molding operations run 24/7, while assembly staff work two shifts, five days a week.
In September, Caframo increased employee compensation by 13% and instituted a $20 CAD per hour starting wage, making it one of the top-paying production facilities in the region and a Certified Living Wage Employer. It is listed as a "Best Workplace in Manufacturing" by the Great Place to Work Institute.
"With our expanded manufacturing configuration in place, we've positioned ourselves to supply retailers with products while rebuilding inventory," said David Sherman, Caframo COO. "This growth will further accelerate as raw materials become more readily available."
Caframo thoroughly researches its end-users and how they use their goods.
