The Oatley family are delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Brulisauer as the new CEO of Hamilton Island.

Peter joins the Hamilton Island family from Vail Resorts, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of their Australian operations.

Peter has been integral to the success of the Australian snow industry, leading Perisher, Hotham, and Falls Creek ski resorts for the past 3 years, following his leadership at Perisher since 2006.

Hamilton Island Chairman, Sandy Oatley, says "Pete Brulisauer has a long history of dedication to Australian tourism and was the standout choice to lead our team at Hamilton Island. Pete brings a wealth of experience and integrity to the role, with a deep understanding of tourism operations. The snow community will be sad to see him go but we are grateful and excited to welcome him to our island community."

Mr Brulisauer says he is honoured to take up the position as Hamilton Island's CEO "Hamilton Island is an Australian tourism icon. It's a privilege to be entrusted to lead the Hamilton Island team to carry on its proud legacy as one of the world's most acclaimed tourism destinations.

"I've long admired the Oatley family's vision, and Glenn Bourke's commitment to Hamilton Island. I look forward to swapping snow for sand and building on an already strong platform to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, residents and employees."

Mr Oatley thanked retiring CEO Glenn Bourke for his leadership and dedication "Glenn's leadership over the past 14 years has seen Hamilton Island evolve into one of Australia's leading integrated resorts. Glenn has done an outstanding job and will always be part of the Hamilton Island family. There is a lot of positive momentum on the Island, it's an exciting time for Glenn to hand over to Pete to drive the next chapter."

Mr Bourke said his decision to retire is made easier knowing Peter is taking the reins "Pete has been a leader in Australian tourism for nearly two decades. With his extensive tourism experience and his energy, he's a natural fit to continue Hamilton Island's reputation as a world class tourist destination."

Peter Brulisauer will begin his tenure in late April.
