Sunstream® Boat Lifts, the leading manufacturer of high-quality free-standing and free-floating boat lifts and the SwiftShield™ Automatic Boat Cover System, announced today its latest hydraulic lift, the SunLift SLX, has been awarded the 2022 Miami International Boat Show Innovation Award in the Docking and Fendering Equipment category.

Organized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and judged by members of Boating Writers International (BWI), the awards recognize innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured, benefit to the marine industry and consumers, practicality and cost-effectiveness. The awards were announced during the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show's Industry Breakfast, presented by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on February 17, 2022.

The SunLift SLX features a clean design, smart phone app, high speeds, next generation frame, adjustable width bunks, stainless steel cylinders and hoses, the highest lifting range of any hydraulic lift currently on the market and can be used in water depths as shallow as zero inches under the hull or skeg.

Sunstream, which introduced the first hydraulic free-standing boat lift 25 years ago, applied vast market experience to craft the SunLift SLX, making it reliable and long-lasting for fresh or salt water. It includes stainless steel cylinders, chew-proof stainless braid hoses, Sunstream's patented cylinder boot, lubricated bronze bushings and rubber capped aluminum SuperBunks™. The advanced pressure balanced hydraulic pump is 30% more efficient, uses less battery power, is faster, quieter and does not lose capacity over time.

The SunLift SLX also features new SoftStop™ technology, which enables the boat to come to a smooth stop, in the over-center locked position, by slowing the hydraulics at the top end of the stroke. The stiff and durable SunLift SLX frame is achieved by aligning the lifting cylinders with the lifting arms and side beams and taking out the motion in the leg socket.

Another industry first is the optional Bluetooth® control system that works in concert with the remote-control key fob and a smartphone app to provide lift data and diagnostics, in addition to single-touch lift control.

"We are so grateful to the NMMA, BWI and the judges for selecting the SunLift SLX for this distinguished award," said Ken Hey, CEO of Sunstream Boat Lifts. "We are proud to have revolutionized the freestanding lift industry with the first hydraulic lift 25 years ago, and it is exciting to revolutionize it again and take it to the next level. The SunLift SLX is a beautiful pedestal for customers' prized possessions, and a magnet to get out boating more often, more reliably, and with more fun."

"If anyone has come back to their boat lift only to wait through three minutes of grinding gears and slipping galvanized wires, they will see the benefits of this quick, quiet and highly adaptable boat lift," said judge Gary Reich.
