Oil Spill Response Course

An oil spill in your marina or boatyard requires fast and efficient action to mitigate the risk along with effective planning for such an event.

This course can ensure marinas and boatyards have those involved in the response adequately trained and prepared for their roles. This course is structured as an hour self-study portion and two hours live online zoom session with the presenters, Clemens Overdijk CMM, Marina Manager Sydney Superyacht Marina and Martin Silk, Group Risk Manager for d'Albora Marinas. The next Live online session is on 30th June 2022.

  • Gain knowledge in responding to spills of oils and chemicals
  • Be actively involved in the setting up and maintenance of spill response equipment and the proper storage, use and disposal of liquids at specified sites.
  • Be aware of the W.H.S and environmental aspects of spills and be conversant with their responsibilities under the S.O.P's
  • Identify common issues with other local marinas and develop improvement strategies

Nautilus Marine Emergency Preparedness Course

Emergencies occur when you least expect and can catch people off-guard. Are you and your marina staff prepared? will help you develop an emergency management plan for your facility or refresh ideas for facilities with an existing emergency management plan.

The BMT Environmental Best Practices Online Course is a two hour self-paced course with videos and downloaded resources. This course is designed to increase awareness of the key environmental issues facing marinas and provide clear best environmental practice guidance to marina staff. Marina staff can learn the course as part of their induction to marina environment. This course is available online anytime.

This online Extreme Weather Preparedness course is designed for marinas and boatyards in any region of the world that is susceptible to one or more types of extreme weather events. Having a comprehensive Extreme Weather Preparedness Plan in place can significantly reduce the time spent preparing a marina in advance of severe weather.
