Freedom Boat Club San Diego announced today it has expanded to its fifth location in Chula Vista. Nestled in San Diego's Bay, the marina provides boaters with a peaceful, quiet atmosphere away from downtown, with tall swaying trees and a pristine, park-like setting. The new location joins Freedom Boat Club San Diego's Oceanside, Bay Marina Cortez, Cabrillo Isle and Mission Bay Dana Landing locations. Chula Vista will open to the public on July 23, 2022.
Offering members a variety of vessels to choose from, such as Defiance and Cobia fishing boats and Bayliner bowriders, Freedom Boat Club San Diego's Chula Vista location is based at the Safe Harbor South Bay Marina. The spacious waterfront venue is bustling with activity and includes picturesque views of the South Bay and serves up some of the best sunsets in San Diego County.
"Freedom Boat Club San Diego is excited to extend our offerings to the beautiful and expanding South Bay community," said Dan Hasbrouck, president, Freedom Boat Club San Diego. "With many of our members living in the South Bay area, we wanted to provide a location that was more convenient. We believe that creating powerful life-long memories with friends and family on the water should be easy to access and hassle free."
Chula Vista is the second largest city in the San Diego metropolitan area and located in the South Bay area, halfway between San Diego and Tijuana. The city is one of the most culturally diverse areas in the United States, encompassing a scenic location between San Diego Bay and the coastal mountain foothills. San Diego Bay is a natural harbor and deepwater port located in San Diego County and is considered one of the best natural harbors on the west coast, spanning 34 miles of waterfront. The bay, which is 12 miles long and 1-to-3 miles wide, is one of the protected natural bays on California's 840-mile-long coastline.
