Hot on the heels of a very successful tenth anniversary season for the 52 Super Series which saw ten teams competing at the 52 Super Series Barcelona Sailing Week, the fifth and final regatta of a season which took the teams to Baiona (Galicia,Spain), Cascais (Portugal), Puerto Portals (Mallorca, Spain) and to Scarlino (Tuscany, Italy), the world's leading grand prix monohull circuit are delighted to have signed a new collaboration agreement with logistics partners Peters & May.

Having first formalised the partnership in 2015 this new agreement spans the period 2023 to 2025.

During the 2022 52 Super Series, Peters & May not only handled all the transportation of the high-performance TP52s when these were not conducted on their own keels but also looking after 80% of the fleet containers for all five events. The shipments began with MV Promisemoving eight of the nine teams from Sagunto to Vigo in April, followed by the shipment between Baiona Sailing Week and the Rolex TP52 World Championship in Cascais. MV Monte Rosa then moved eight teams from Lisbon to Palma in June then Palma to Piombino for the Royal Cup in Scarlino, Italy. The final shipment saw the transportation of five teams from Piombino to Vilanova (Barcelona) for the recent season finale.

As the new agreement is signed Peters & May is already gearing up to take care of the logistics for next year's 52 Super Series, which gets under way in early May in St. Tropez.

Nazaret Cabanero is based at Peters & May's Valencia office and has been running the logistics for the 52 Super Series this year, agrees: "Racing yacht logistics are always time crucial. Under current market circumstances where available ships and spaces are short, and prices are high and liable to fluctuation, it is a very challenging task for our teams. This year they have pulled it off yet again and we could not be prouder. Being involved in the 52 Super Series logistics is a great privilege for Peters & May and we enjoy working with the teams' many members which we have come to know as friends."

Gladiator's Feargal Finlay adds, "Peters & May in effect take a load off our minds and our day to day jobs. We know we don't have to worry or stress. They listen to what we want and when and make it happen, likewise whether that is where the containers should be sited when or which port we prefer. They are always prepared and well organised on site and keep us all updated all the time. And from our own point of view there have been no problems post-Brexit, not because they don't exist, but because thanks to Peters & May team, they are very well informed, really going above and beyond."

Justo Gosalbes, Peters & May / Spain, who has worked with the 52 Super Series since the beginning of the partnership comments, "It is exciting to be looking forwards to continuing our relationship with the 52 Super Series for the coming years. As a top grand prix class there are of course certain demands and requirements that come into play operating at this level but we have great communication with the different teams and always seek to provide the service they need and meet the agreed deadlines. I think we can say that like the teams we get a little bit better every year."

With 12 strategically located international offices and more than four decades of experience, one of Peters & May's areas of specialist service has always been international transport of Grand Prix racing yachts, their tenders and equipment. This began many years ago with the famous Whitbread Round the World Race, where Peters & May's demonstrable ability to transport precious racing yachts, plus their containers and equipment, within strict deadlines and in absolute safety further enhanced the company's already trustworthy reputation.

"Peters & May is not just a loyal sponsor, it is a fundamental part of the best monohull circuit in the world. Having a logistics provider with the reliability and precision of Peters & May has allowed us to grow and achieve our goals and will continue to do so as the series moves forward into 2023 with both more teams and more events. It was great to celebrate our 10th Anniversary this year where it started, in Barcelona, with a good fleet of 10 boats. These ten years have been intense, and not without their challenges. We have travelled far and wide, from the Florida USA to South Africa and from Croatia to Cascais. To have the continued, totally reliable support of our logistic Partner Peters and May always makes life easier. While of course they are first class when it comes to ironing out little problems away, their expertise and experience means many fewer problems in the first place." Adds Agustín Zulueta, CEO of the 52 Super Series.
