US Sailing today announced Blaine Pedlow, an accomplished senior development executive and long-time sailor, as the US Sailing's Senior Vice President, Development. Pedlow will lead fundraising and development efforts for US Sailing, the sport's National Governing Body (NGB), following an extensive national executive search involving Prodigy Search.

"I am thrilled to welcome Blaine Pedlow to the US Sailing family," said Alan Ostfield, CEO of US Sailing. "Blaine brings a terrific blend of broad sailing experiences and great development knowledge. With this combined skillset, he will be a fantastic addition to our existing leadership team."

Pedlow has over 10 years of experience managing major gifts and foundation fundraising for various academic, athletic, and technical research organizations. Most recently, Pedlow served as Principal at Rhumbline Consultants, providing nonprofit leadership and fundraising support to organizations in the Pacific Northwest. With Rhumbline, Pedlow offered support in leadership transitions, board development and training, annual giving efforts, and starting major gifts programs within campaigns. Before joining Rhumbline, Pedlow served The Value Reporting Foundation, University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University managing portfolios of major and principal gift prospects, managing reunion campaigns, and directing fundraising programs that engaged with individuals, foundations, and corporate funders. As Senior Vice President, Development, Pedlow will bring these invaluable skills to the US Sailing Foundation.

"The US Sailing Foundation's mission is to provide resources for the Olympics and other important US Sailing initiatives," said Brian Keane, Chairman of the US Sailing Foundation. "With Blaine in place, we will be able to provide more access and opportunity in the sport, raise the bar in training and competitive standards, and advance America's Olympic athletes as they strive for excellence."

Pedlow earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from University of California, Berkeley, focusing on creative reuse of waterfront industrial and military facilities.

Pedlow will also bring his extensive sailing experience to US Sailing. Pedlow has previously organized boats and platforms for competition, managed racing teams of 10-15 crew and overseen competitive aspects of numerous teams. He is currently an avid competitor in offshore sailing and the International 505 class.

Pedlow also has extensive college sailing experience as a sailor and student leader at Berkeley, as a coach at Columbia, SUNY Maritime and USMMA King's Point, and as a volunteer, most recently serving as the PCCSC Commissioner and head of the ED hiring committee from 2017-2021.

"I am thrilled to join the team at US Sailing and to continue and expand their efforts to develop resources for all levels of our sport," said Pedlow. "Sailing has offered so many opportunities to me personally and professionally, and I am eager to leverage my experience to bring a broad coalition of donors to the table to support our Olympic athletes, aspiring youth competitors, and the full range of programs that US Sailing provides that serve all American sailors."
