D-Marin, the selection of premium marinas, has been granted the Blue Flag Award at 14 of its marinas, recognising its commitment across the network to protect the environment and marine life.

The iconic Blue Flag, operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education, is one of the most recognised awards for beaches and marinas. It requires all to meet a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria. The Blue Flag certificate is allocated for a year and is renewed annually to ensure ongoing responsibility.

D-Marin has been recognised for the highest maritime and coastal protection standards through a series of initiatives which are part of its on-going Environmental Social Governance (ESG) commitments engrained across the premium marina selection. D-Marin's strong ESG strategy and vision to create "sustainable marinas for present and future generations" enhances the surrounding environment of its marinas.

Water quality testing and treatment, coastal clean-ups involving the marina teams and local community, use of renewable energy, health and safety training, ethical waste management, and sustainable investments are all activities which contribute to D-Marin's marinas achieving and renewing Blue Flag awards. The Blue Flag award is available to D-Marin marinas in Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, and Spain.

Areti Priovolou, Health, Safety and Environmental Officer said: "D-Marin marinas are based in the most spectacular yachting destinations in the world, and we want to do our part to protect these regions. Our robust ESG strategy to create sustainable marinas for present and future generations is welcomed with open arms by all our marinas. This commitment is the least we can do to help the destinations we call home, and we will always seek new ways we can enhance the environment and marine life."

Blue Flag represents an international maritime and coastal protection programme with the primary goal of sustainable management and governance of the sea and coastline. Zea Marina in Greece is the most recent D-Marin marina to be honoured with a Blue Flag, with other marinas across the selection renewing its award from 2022.
