Smartgyro, a leading innovator in marine gyroscopic stabilization systems, will be attending Cannes Yachting Festival to support the fast growth in interest from boat builders and owners in their range of stabilization solutions.

As the company approaches its 10th anniversary next year, the show provides a good opportunity to look back on the technological innovations and developments since its creation as a small Italian start-up business in 2014.

Smartgyro has successfully advanced to its position at the forefront of the market by delivering increasingly new and innovative products that effectively meet the needs of boaters and boat builders in minimizing vessel roll, increasing ease of use and maintenance onboard, and improving comfort onboard. The company is committed to the continuous development of new products and the line up within the range now delivers stabilization systems for vessels ranging from 40ft-95ft.

From humble beginnings in an Italian garage where four friends with backgrounds in engineering and management came together; an idea that marine stabilization was where a new competitive and innovative product could be developed, was born. From the first prototype, there has been a series of both hardware and software adjustments supported by innovations to make the unit more efficient and achieve better anti-roll torque. Today Smartgyro is part of YANMAR, a privately-held, multinational company headquartered in Osaka, Japan. The backing of YANMAR Recreational Marine Business Unit and its other companies, including VETUS, Maxwell, and Flexofold, has enabled Smartgyro to accelerate design and development of a full line-up of highly advanced gyro stabilizers.
