ABOUT US

Driven by their passion for sailing and their love of engineering, innovation and technology the Allen brothers, Tony and Glenn, first started producing fittings for their own race boats in their garden shed back in the 1950s.

The fittings were such an improvement on everything then in use, that they were persuaded to set up full production to meet the demands of the growing sailing market. In 1956, with a vision of producing performance sailing hardware, Tony and Glenn registered the company Allen Brothers (fittings) Ltd.

Over the past 60-plus years, we have continued to grow Tony and Glenns vision and we are now a major exporter, selling high-performance sailing hardware around the world. All of which is still manufactured from our factory in Southminster, Essex. Tony Allens daughter, Liz Adams, now runs the company, along with a highly skilled and dedicated management team.

Over the years we have invested heavily in computer-aided design and manufacturing. Our state of the art 3d printer, vertical machining centres, lathes, moulding machines and hydraulic presses give us the ability to match the high quality/low production volume demands of boat builders for both catalogue and custom products.

Our products are now the go-to choice for many of the worlds leading boat builders, sailing teams and many leading industrial companies in a variety of sectors.

We are much more than just marine hardware specialists. We are engineering experts. Liz Adams, Managing Director.
