The Maine-based boatbuilder's new facilities, The Wharf at Lyman-Morse, wins multiple awards during inaugural season.

Lyman-Morse, the venerable Maine-based boatbuilder who has been crafting world-renowned custom and semi-custom sail and power yachts for 45 years, enjoyed a season full of awards and accolades for both their new boats and their new Camden facilities, The Wharf at Lyman-Morse.

Lyman-Morse purchased the property in 2015, and since then all the buildings have gone through extensive (and in some cases complete) renovations following a fire in 2020. Now, after years of work breathing life back into the waterfront, the 2023 season saw new tenants, new visitors, and a boatload of new awards.

"We're incredibly proud of what we've been able to do to the waterfront," said Mackenzie Lyman. "This project was a labor of love, not only getting our new boatbuilding facilities up and running, but really creating a true working waterfront. It was a lot of work, but seeing so many people enjoy the shops and restaurants, whether they're locals or visiting cruisers, has been incredibly rewarding."

And while the enjoyment of the new facilities might be a reward in and of itself, local and national media outlets have gone one step further and bestowed numerous accolades on the new waterfront destination.

Salt Wharf restaurant (www.saltwharf.com) has been a jewel in Lyman's crown, as it was recognized as Editor's Pick, Best Dock & Dine by Soundings magazine, Maine's Best New Restaurant by Yankee magazine, and won Best New Restaurant from DownEast magazine. Salt Wharf embodies everything people love about the Maine dining scene—gorgeous views, a waterfront setting, farm-to-table ingredients, and top-notch culinary talent.

The Wharf at Lyman-Morse has also received accolades this season, including winning Best Marina from DownEast magazine, Maine's 2023 Best Full-Service Community Boatyard 2023 from LuxLife, and their on-site distillery, Barren's, was a finalist for the magazine's Best Distillery category.

But it isn't just the food that's been turning heads recently. Earlier this year, MaineBiz magazine named Lyman-Morse CEO Drew Lyman as Maine's CEO of the year, the company's LM46 sailboat was named Domestic Boat of the Year by CruisingWorld magazine, and the Lyman-Morse built Hood 35 LM won Best New Powered Vessel by UK-based Classic Boat magazine.
